Go Huskies!

Congratulations to the Huskies on winning the state championship at the NJSIAA Central Group II title game on Friday, crushing Manasquan 28-12.

Thanks to Coach Martucci and all the coaches for leading our team to victory.

A big cheer for all the community support. 350 students rode school buses to the game. Over 2,000 people attended to support our team. A victory parade is planned for Sunday afternoon.

For game highlights, you can check the APP's coverage or watch some video at AberdeenNJlife.

Below is a list of our football champs. Congratulations again.

What took you so long Joey? Did it burn your fingers to have to post something positive?

Anonymous said...

You know who probably threatened to beat him up if he didn't.

Anonymous said...

Aberdeener,

Were you serious about not running again for the board?

NSectionJoe said...

The Aberdeener observes a religious practice that does not allow him to post subject matter until today I believe at the very earliest. The game occurring on Friday night coincides with the start of his religious observance.

So to the mental midgets above you should be ashamed of yourself and you owe the man an apology. I am certain he will not be holding his breath waiting for you to realize your ignorance to do the right thing.

Then again they were so quick to attack him at the drop of a hat, perhaps they will apologize from their anonymity.

In closing we should all be proud of our students and of the coaching staff for their successful season. While many of our student players will be returning next year very serious situations and disrespectful conduct by some on the coaching staff may warrant a different outcome for the returning coaching staff next year.

Change is good I say. Others say it is about time for that change to happen. Some say their conduct warrants a change.

Way to go Go Huskies

There should be some changes in the front office too.

We owe him an apology because we don't follow his religious schedual?
It is also pretty hysterical that anyone should apologize to a man who is constantly on the attack.

Mayber you should get your nose out of his ass, wipe off those glasses, and realize that he is nothing but a bitter old house husband!

I keep reading about the conduct of one of the coaches from the football team. Can anyone tell me what that coach did without naming names?

Perhaps what Nsec was trying to point out is that the aberdeener could not respond as he is not allowed to drive, use the phone or electronic devices from late friday afternoon to Sunday. You seemed from you I D hidden anonymous position eager to attack the aberdeener for not posting a congratulatory message fast enough to satisfy you.

It is without a doubt changes in attitude, sense of entitlement or perceived power by some who feel they can speak to students and parents any way they want needs to be addressed. This conduct by Coach M. needs to be addressed as he insulted parents, students and more as was seen on the school board broadcast. Coach M is not the god he thinks he is.

The others under his control have lost positions and more as they lost sight of their true mission. Football is not everything and it is time Coach M. gets taken to the woodshed.

Football is not everything, but for some of these young men it could mean full scholarships. We are so quick to make judgements, you only heard one side of the story not all of it. The parent was told that her statements are being televised. The parent was upset for 2 reasons. Her son was yelled at, and his starting job was taken from him. But as an athlete you never quit you play another position. When the college coaches start calling the last thing that want to hear he quit.
My son played for Joe and yes he was yelled at, but he left it on the field. Stop attacking a man who has given so much of his time and commitment. And for the many men who volunteer to make this a great football program. If 5 players recieved scholarships that is over 1 million dollars to those parents it means no student loans.

ps. Watch college football on saturday if you really want to see yelling.

THINK FOR ONCE said...

THE STATEMENT WAS REPORTED TO BE:

COACH M.: PLAYER _ _ _ _ _ _ QUIT THE TEAM HE IS DEAD TO ME. DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH HIM. I WILL NOT HELP HIM. THIS WAS ALSO SAID TO TWO PARENTS WHO QUESTIONED COACH M'S CONDUCT AND ATTITUDE, AND WAS NOT REBUFFED IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM BY SUPERINTENDENT O'MALLEY WHO KNOWS WHAT HE NEEDS TO DO. ONE WINNING SEASON IN A LONG TIME DOES NOT NEGATE SUCH CONDUCT.

SOMETHING SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID WHEN THIS WAS UNASHAMEDLY REPEATED TO THESE PARENTS IN FRONT OF SOME ADMINISTRATION PERSONNEL TYPE WHO SHOULD HAVE TAKEN IMMEDIATE ACTION FOR SUCH DISRESPECTFUL CONDUCT. TO DATE NOTHING WAS DONE. BECAUSE WE WON SOME FOOTBALL GAMES?

BY THE WAY HOW MANY SCHOLARSHIPS ARE REALLY GIVEN FOR ALL THE MONEY SPENT ON ATHLETICS EACH AND EVERY YEAR. I DON'T THINK IT WORKS TO THE BENEFIT OF ALL. SCHOLARSHIPS SHAPE PEOPLE BUT ALLOWED DISRESPECTFUL CONDUCT DOES LITTLE TO HELP WITH WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO TEACH CHILDREN IF SUCH CONDUCT IS MERELY ALLOWED FOR FEAR OF POWER OR THE OCCASIONAL WINNING SEASON.

ANOTHER POINT THIS IS NOT COLLEGE FOOTBALL. THESE ARE UNDERAGE CHILDREN FOR THE MOST PART WHO ARE IMPRESSIONABLE.

THESE ARE EMPLOYEES OF THE DISTRICT WHO ARE BEING ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT AND WE ARE ALL LIABLE IF THAT CONDUCT ERUPTS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS. BY THE WAY IT HAS ERUPTED, PEOPLE WERE ASSAULTED AND SHHHHHHHHHHHH IT IS A SECRET. RIGHT COACH R. ? RIGHT COACK M. ?
IT SEEMS ALL TOO EASY FOR ATHLETIC COACHES TO BE FORGIVEN IF THEY WIN.

WHAT IF A BIOLOGY OR ENGLISH TEACHER OR EVEN A GUIDANCE PERSON SAID SOMETHING LIKE COACH M.. WOULD YOU JUST SAY WELL MOST KIDS WERE WINNERS BY THEIR GRADES SO IT IS O.K.?

THINK ABOUT IT AND DON'T BE SO FORGIVING FOR INAPPROPRIATE AND DISRESPECTFUL CONDUCT.

#1. Coach M. coaches football, not tennis. If you don't want to be yelled at, don't step on a football field. If you don't want the coach to disown you, then don't pout when someone takes your position and quit the team. I don't know who the kid is, but I'll bet he's pumping my gas in five years with that quitter's attitude. It's called life-lessons... My 70 year-old mother won't go talk to the CEO if my supervisor fires me today... Again, if you don't want tough love, then don't sign up for the football team.

#2. All this whining about the "favortism" shown to football is ridiculous. When 2,000 residents show up to watch the soccer team, baseball team, tennis team or field hockey team, those sports will then receive equal treatment. When those sports raise tens of thousands of dollars at the gate and concession stands, then they will get their own lighted field as well. This is simply the way the world works, both at the high school and college levels. In fact, according to Sports Illustrated, nearly every large university uses football revenue to fund the rest of their athletic program.

#3. I have no idea what Charlie Rogers did or didn't do. But, I know for a fact that there are classroom teachers in MARSD with prior DUI offenses and public intoxication citations. I'm sure there are others I don't know about with unfortunate incidents in their past. However, knowing a few of the aforementioned teachers personally, I can tell you that they are no less qualified to instruct or supervise our children. Disqualifying Charlie Rogers from teaching football to our community's children because of mistakes he made as a young man is ludicrous. Along with Jay Bellamy, they are the most qualified people between here and Giants Stadium to teach football to our youth. My kids don't play football, but I'd be livid if there were people trying to keep my football-playing-child from being instructed by bona fide NFL players. It's the type of thing people in Holmdel and Colts Neck pay thousands of dollars for at camps and clinics. Most of us in Aberdeen don't have that luxury, and to deprive others' children of it is ridiculous...

WELL SAID....
A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IS IMPORTANT TO THE PLAYERS ON THIS TEAM,SCHOLARSHIP FOR MANY OF THE JR' AND SR.REMEMBER THESE 2 PLAYERS QUIT. JOE AND HIS COACHING STAFF DID THE RIGHT THING BY NOT ALLOWING THEM BACK ON THE TEAM.TALK ABOUT YELLING WHAT ABOUT THE PROBLEM LAST YEAR WHEN PARENTS COMPLAINED ABOUT THE GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH.I HAVE LIVED IN ABERDEEN FOR 49 YEARS AND CANNOT REMEMBER WHEN 2000 PEOPLE SHOWED SUPPORT FOR ANY OTHER SPORT IN MATAWAN EXCEPT FOOTBALL.

WELL DONE HUSKIES

Why does football get professional coaches and all the other sports get teachers? It is this kind of hypocrisy that makes people angry at Joe. He is the one that does the hiring and should not be AD and head football coach. If your football player student gets the best coaches as you say then all the sports should be given the same considerations.

Is your identity not hidden? It is pretty amusing that you tell others they are hiding behind an anonymous ID, while you are doing the same thing.

NSection Joe could have pointed out the religious observances of Mr. Warren without becoming ignorant and calling people names.

I have been here 3 weeks and had no idea about the mans religious background. Maybe if people would stop assuming, name calling and self righteous behaviors people could learn something from others.

It is quite clear to me now even after only 3 weeks why this page is looked upon as entertainment in the community.

I thought I could learn something about my new community, and I have, but none of it has been positive.

3 WEEKS MY ASS. YOU ANONYMOUS TYPES ATTACK MR. W. AND NSEC AND ANYONE ELSE COUNTER TO YOU. I AGREE WITH NSECJ THE ATTACK ON MR. W. WAS IGNORANT. YOU WERE OFFENDED BECAUSE SOMEONE STOOD UP FOR THE HOST OF THE BLOG THAT MANY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SHUT DOWN. KAUFF AND HIS CRONIES AND MARTUCCI AMONGST MANY MORE.

FIRST OF ALL THIS IS NOT MR. ROGERS FIRST SEASON WITH THE TEAM.
HE HAS COACHED POP WARNER AND TRAINED HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS WITHOUT ASKING FOR A DIME. HOW MANY OF YOU WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING. YOU ARE ONLY HEARING 1 SIDE OF THE STORY. SO CHANGE THE SUBJECT AND SUPPORT THIS TEAM AND THE COACHES FOR A JOB WELL DONE. OH BY THE WAY FOR THE NEWCOMERS MATAWAN HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FOOTBALL TOWN. AS A PARENT OF A FORMER PLAYER I WAS SO PROUD OF OUR TEAM, COACHES AND STUDENTS FOR THEIR SUPPORT ON FRIDAY. IT IS TIME FOR THE ADULTS TO STEP BACK AND LET THEM ENJOY THIS ACCOMPLISHMENT.

I'm not annoymous anymore I have a real name just like you moron.

Clear thinking with no apologies said...

We adults should step[ back you say? Would those be the same adults who will be footing the legal bills for the school district for when Rogers attacks again. Last time a private citizen. The time before that an assistant coach on the field. Who is next?

You are the same geniuses who would be interviewed on TV when a person like Rogers commits a despicable act. "Well he waves at us when we walk buy so he seemed all right".

Win a few games and it is a ok to just beat up a few people and talk disrespectfully. Shear genius. Blame all of us who seek accountability for peoples improper actions and disrespectful conduct?

PLEASE SIR TAKE DOWN THE ABOVE POST. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE FAMILIES.

These young man and coaches worked so hard this season to bring a championship back to Matawan. Stop trying to take that away from them. My suggestion show up at sundays parade and see the support and love we have for this team and their coaches. Finally something to cheer about and this blog in true form finds only negative things to say.

Aberdeener said...

I agree this is a time to let the community enjoy its victory. There will be plenty of time after our parade to discuss the other issues.

I'd be particularly interested in a comparison with Mr. O'Connell since he touted RTI.

I heard a rumor that the AD was bringing back another standout alumnus to coach.
They still have to work out how to video confrence him from his cell in Trenton though.
This is of course a joke, but it is plausible, considering the recent escapades.

Where was Councilman Perry last night? Anyone know why he did not attend the council meeting? I hear that plaques were given out for the departing councilman for their ??? SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY ???.

These supposed plaques should have read ???service to Normy??? for all we have read here on the Aberdeener. Right Normy!

You would think with all the graft and corruption monies flowing around the democratic party in Aberdeen that Normy could have done a little better then some lame plaque. Right Normy?
