Congratulations to Aberdeen for placing third in Monmouth
County for the highest tax increases of 2012. As reported by the Star Ledger
(hat tip to the MatAb Patch), Aberdeen scored a 4.8% property tax increase,
nearly triple the state average of 1.7%. (Matawan only raised their taxes 0.6%,
damn Republicans.)
No doubt a majority of Aberdeen homeowners will be
thrilled by the increases, an average of $300 on top of all the prior years’
increases. After all, that’s why the townsfolk keep reelecting the people who
raise their taxes. It’s a quality of life issue. Vincent Vinci Park costs
money.
As for those who don’t like the high taxes, they’re
invited to leave. Sure the high taxes have already ravaged an already weakened
housing market but if leaving ain’t worth a short sale and maybe killing your
credit history then stop complaining.
To all you taxpayers, thank you for your money and be
assured that every penny is being spent.

It looks like Mr. Kauff was having a discussion with a developer about the legitimate application and engineering fees required when a developer wants approval for his project. Every town has it. Make developers pay the costs so the residents don't have to pay it in there taxes. They might have also been discussing infrastructure contributions which the town requires. If they were arguing it might be because the developer didn't want to pay. So Norm Kauff was only protecting the community he loves, Aberdeen.

Reading the press this morning that many towns taxes will go up across the board and on every property owner. Tax increases all for the loss of tax revenue due to Hurricane Sandy it is said is the cause. Some towns like Sea Bright have said to have lost over $65,000,000.00 in tax payments.
I myself will wait for my town of Aberdeen to soon to drop the tax raise excuses for 2013 that will no doubt have our already too high taxes going up for the storm damage cleanup excuses. Excuses made and tax increases done just to feed the corrupt political machine here for too long. I say this easily as the damage to my towns properties were nowhere near as catastrophic and I am sure personal property damage uncovered were also minimal from what has been posted since the storm.
It will not be the cost of the storm damage that will raise our taxes but the political corruption yet again that will keep our Aberdeen with the first or second highest taxes in all of Monmouth County. Where are the services provided to us taxpayers that warrant the second highest tax rates in the entire county?

The term mafia as I recall did not get attached to any individuals by ethnicity. I think the fact that the fire organizations are run like an organized crime syndicate was the persons suggestion. What's an oppressed taxpayer to do in Aberdeen?
While I have never worked in a town type job. I can't imagine what it's like to work in the corruption filled town hall in Aberdeen. Just to have to take the words from people going to pay the big new tax increase must take its toll. You have to know people complain about the big tax increase. The worst thing is people need to complain to the corrupt town council and mayor. Leave the workers alone vote out the corrupt politicians.
Looking at recent news articles many shore communities have significant financial shortfalls since Hurricane Sandy. We taxpayers and business owners still have not seen if Aberdeen will be having any shortfall in its creative budgeting process. Perhaps our towns finances are in great shape and there will not be the unnecessary publicity of cutbacks in municipal overspending all across the board that often exists or perhaps the often discussed shared services would finally actually occur with real substantive savings for taxpayers finally being the priority and not the fiefdoms of power with less than honest politicians who will finally deal with the overly expensive police department budgets we can be sure are never properly reviewed or publicly shown to really always need the biggest tax numbers of any municipal budget in most every community just because the public needs to be protected. I protect my business
Honestly I ask isn't a police force or recreation offices often able to generate a great majority of its own funding. In my business if an employee does not produce or generate sustaining business for me I look for why or try to encourage changes to better produce. While the supposed force here is reported to cost over $4,000,000.00 I would think that is merely salaries and benefits only with far more monies hidden in line items for supplies, vehicles, ammunition and more too often truly unknown to taxpayers and business owners like myself perhaps purposefully.
It is my hope that as a long time business owner and resident that what we've put up with enough under the too long and too secretive ruling class so often discussed and anonymously ridiculed on here. I think it needs to change before the costs of the not so secretive and questionably led political corruption ends Aberdeen for good. Coffees on stores open I have about 312 days left.
People need to also look at the Aberdeen-Matawan Patch and Aberdeen NJ Life along with the Aberdeener. We need to look at all sides of the news although all the signs are there for the Patch blog site people to do more questioning of our so called elected leaders. The big investigation I think is for a thorough look into the buying of property on the edge of town for millions with no real need to this tax payer when far more is needed. Who owns the property and were they in fact connected to the D's or not. That would be a good starting point. That property and its roller coaster of failed proposals to only have plans reported to be bought or is it just a political payback like many think.
And the democrat Kauff corruption rolls on.
I think that property was just under a million. It still warrants an investigation. It is very insulting for our forgotten neighbors off 516. My sons and I go to Belmar much of the summer season and are looking forward to this summers fun as well. As I looked in the paper this morning I was surprised to see that the mayor of Belmar is despite my thoughts on his handling of the rebuilding effort Mayor Doherty is in fact just another political hack after all from his statements in the article.
Despite meeting him recently at a fundraiser where he spoke excitingly of the rebuilding and beach restoration effort todays Asbury Park Press has an article describing how the town of Belmar engineering firm Birdsall Engineering Co. underestimated boardwalk rebuilding costs by 21 percent. That's not a mistake that is a crime against the taxpayers footing the bill. While it is my understanding that our town of Aberdeen politicians and engineers CME have also frequently screwed up in pricing or job costs for our own municipal work costing us plenty we can be sure. I was surprised to see that Mayor Doherty thinks the $1.4 million increase for Birdsall Engineerings mistake is and I quote " Contractors are used to it; towns are used to it" he politically or just ignorantly adds that "it's part of the cost of building large projects" and "there's going to be added costs".
It is too easy for politicians to make such statements with our tax dollars that seem so easily spent to correct the mistakes of in this case a professional engineering company. For this major mistake in this supposed professional work the Birdsall engineering company should be made to pay the costs for their mistakes not the taxpayers of Belmar. We can all be sure that our well known as corrupt politicians have covered for the despised CME Engineers way too long and are both weaved into the political corruption and political thievery in our own corruption filled Aberdeen.

Is this Norman Kauff person terminally ill to have the proposed cap be brought up now? Is it time to give this Kauff guy his golden parachute so therefore taxes must go up? Did anyone on the council or management look at manpower cost saving studies for the various municipal departments with a special up close look at the police departments real needs? In the community I moved from the police cars were used to 100k miles. I wonder when do they retire police cars from use here and could our town save money? My old town saved over 150k a year by running the police cars a bit longer. My old town did not have so many cars sitting in the police parking lot like I saw last Sunday morning dropping off my son to his mother. I think it is time an outside look at town costs here and elsewhere need to be done and not by politically connected companies or retired cops. Taxpayers need to get pissed off now.

Hey Intone Bob you might want to read the newspaper again this morning? Your now not so favorite Mayor of Belmar Doherty had even more ignorant statements or corrupt politician speak about the increased boardwalk costs to be borne by taxpayers due to a professional engineering work screw up again this morning. There was even an editorial from the editor of the newspaper on yesterdays ignorant statements highlighting the all to typical misuse or abuse of taxpayers monies to cover for a politically connected engineers very costly mistake. Costly mistakes of course that Mayor Doherty seems to continue to have no problem with as he seems eager to cover the costs of. Of course this costly to the taxpayers mistake is by a company that Mayor Doherty of Belmar who must be getting Birdsall Engineering political donations or outright illegal and unethical payoffs from. Especially looking at Mayor Doherty's laughable defense of the Birdsall engineers screwup for the second time now. We taxpayers can be sure that our own politicians have covered for mistakes by the so called Kauff professionals and CME Engineers. Maybe Mayor Doherty is a graduate of The Norman Kauf School of Unethical and Totally Corrupt Politicians? Our idiot Mayor Tagliarini must have graduated at the top of his class from what he showed many of us at the storm meeting throwing the manager and police to the wolves that night. How can any of those town employees have any respect for a mayor like that?

Why don't people recycle in town. I call and tell the town and nothing happens. My neighbors never put any recycling out week after week. I am amazed how people have no thought of our environments futures or what our society will leave for our grand children's grandchildren.
