Why are teachers using online courses to attain higher
degrees but the students are not? Rather than expand and experiment with new
teaching technologies, the Information Technology budget has been slashed by
over 30% in two years to $163,000. That’s roughly $4 per student. Add the total
district library budget, and you’re just over $20 a kid.
Meanwhile, during that same period, per pupil
expenditures (ignoring overhead) is up 13% to $13,430 per student. $5,000,000 was added to capital expenditures.
Teacher benefits are galloping along at annual increases of 10%.
The simple reality is that public school is too expensive
and the education is woefully below student needs.
The school district should pursue a blended approach of
technology, individualized instruction, and teacher/student interaction.
As a first step, the district must approach parents for permission
to instruct their children in math and science via online courses. The students
could work at their own pace in a supervised school environment. Those who need
more time and help, will get it. Those who can fly will be allowed to do so.
Parents can withdraw their children from the program at any time.
It’s either this, charter schools, or implosion. By
staying the course, the district will have chosen implosion.

I've just finished delivering all the toys for all of the good boys and girls *no toys for any of the corrupt town officials from the mayor, manager on down much less the taxpayer gouging so called professionals who *wink wink nod nod* hire and I am now going to take a few days off.
When I am relaxed and rested I will start putting my list together for next years good boys and girls. Knowing full well that the political corruption and political pay to play trickery is so deeply entrenched in the Aberdeen political leadership . Deceit from the mayor on down they will most assuredly get nothing but coal really black coal to match their taxpayer abusing heart.
As for this obvious mayor manipulated Aberdeen Economic Business Council these corrupt and self serving evil trolls truly do nothing really positive for those they are supposed to benefit. Even I Santa who know a few things about would think that a virtual fire extinguisher prop is a waste of money and does not benefit the business community the business council is supposed to serve. The supposed $10,000.00 questionably raised by gouging businesses to put out signs or to get on the council members front and center with signs littering the area. So the fire extinguisher monies would of course have been better used to purchase billboards advertising all of the businesses equally and fairly.
Another candidate for coal I receive many complaints about is the code officer who also as reported to me writes hundreds of tickets from a hunting perch and is said is done with little regard for fairness. I also am watching him very closely as I get a few calls that he is also a puppet for the politicians and jumps when they call his name or pull him off favored residents or store owners.
The worst on this years list of good boys or girls is the new public relations person a so called needless political hire. Looking over my naughty list for politicians in Aberdeen there is already an overpaid political appointee who has been paid for doing very little in the press or communications for years. So my eye will be on the public relations person to see if the money spent is really worth it or was it as stated in a recent letter merely the hiring of a political *friends* daughter.
As for the posts about the police force in Aberdeen you should know that Aberdeen police are not a good group of men and women doing all they can for the residents, taxpayers and business community. They are overall lazy, egotistical and politically favored far too often. I see the salaries and monies spent for this group and find them all naughty and not nice.
So now Santa is heading off to to warmer climes with Mrs. Clause and I in closing will say that recent rumors of an Aberdeen employee taking legal action may be true and Santa sees that it is well deserved. It will be very costly to the taxpayers of Aberdeen once again needlessly and it will be very expensive my elves tell me.

Police release a tidbit of information about homes burglarized, men arrested on Church St carrying presents, BUT it DOES NOT give full information if people were home at 2:30am when this happened, were they home invasions, anyone hurt.

How can you criticize the aberdeen police. Don't you know they risk their lives everyday for us taxpayers. Most of us taxpayers who don't make as much as they do of course. You see sitting in police cars that long gives them a high probability for carbon monoxide poison from sitting in an idling car for hours on end. Sitting in an idling car watching videos or taking to their girlfriends and wives or for most of them both talking to their girlfriends and wives while working. Risk their lives for us hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Got up to go fishing today and heavy winds rolled in making the kayak a no go. So i've been looking at my favorite do nothing democrats on here. I am perplexed at this business council donation to the fire boys. Don't they get hundreds of thousands in taxes a year still? If so why give them even more from a concocted business group that once again does nothing to lead or benefit its base just like the puppet town council? Just more democratic blow smoke at the people and I guess and never look for real taxpayer benefiting progress just like the democrats have done since the late eighties in my old haunt.
Another thing still not on the map is the train station development. What a farce that is from the pervert and Norm Kauff. How much have they spent to not develop the area that won't ever benefit the area? I know i've put on a few pounds since retiring but those engineers must be really bloated and fat from doing nothing and getting paid to do nothing by the towns puppets. What a shame that town has so much to offer if well and honestly run. Honestly run what am I saying it's Aberdeen?

Read the train station development topic a few posts back and they need to know that the development signs at the train station are just like the old site for the long banner sign that was on Church Street by town hall for years. Signs like those that had free advertising for the politically "connected" and "beholding" to the ghostly Mr. Kauff developers with no development ever really being built. That is just a political tool for all of the political campaign promises and election lies. The train station sign lists a Chase Developers LLC and the Silver Oaks Developers. If I recall that is the same named developer that caused the legal mess with Matawan so many years ago. So signs promising developments in Aberdeen give little more than an excuse to pay Drapwig's sign business. Don't hold your breath waiting for anything more than that sign to be developed.
I keep a close watch on building approvals in Aberdeen and I don't remember anything on the train station property ever being approved, which requires numerous legal publications in the process. Of course the normal, questionable, politically publicized political grandstanding of such an approvals by the D's is always part of their normal hide and seek process.
The Aberdeen politicians favorite game of hide and seek with the notifications of public meetings,agendas and minutes publications is all of course engineered, pun intended, and is corruptly crafted to make people initially think Aberdeen is progressing forward while it corruptly only marking time with corruption driven engineering fees. Fees of course that are probably unchecked for validity much less be easily available if a member of the public seeks out the totals under the Open Public Records Act.
Also and as is usual for Aberdeen politics our politicians have hired conveniently and corruptly the same corruption laden and controlled names and companies to provide the same so-called professional services for over twelve years at least in Aberdeen without fail.
I'll even bet everything I own that if any service proposals arrive before the reorganization meeting they are sitting unopened on a desk or shelf in the municipal building much less been opened or reviewed for possibly more honest, efficient and God forbid a less expensive or efficient service provider. I fear that 2014 will find no taxpayer benefiting improvements to our municipal services other than the savings on business cards not having to be ordered.
Is our 4m dollar police force doing anything about the drug house by the train tracks. Where's Mr. Swindles to get it watched. Another do nothing except for his family type I guess.
