Will Barza Strike Back

The term “Barza” has come to describe any school board members who seek to benefit themselves and their friends through abuse of power and political machinations on the school board. This past year, we rid ourselves of their influence and the school district has made great strides. Our focus is, once again, the education and development of our students. We are holding the line against tax increases. We are holding our staff accountable for results. This April’s election will be a referendum on all the changes we’ve made because Barza is back.

Two people have announced their intentions to run for the seats occupied by Dr. Gambino and Dr. Delaney. One is a disgruntled former employee who was dismissed by Dr. O’Malley. The other is a former school board member who voted against Dr. O’Malley’s appointment. Their agenda is obvious – payback and a return to the old days.

So far, there’s no word of a Matawan candidate and I strongly doubt they could garner Mr. Ruprecht’s support to oust Dr. O’Malley. However, Dr. O’Malley’s contract expires next year. A community vote to return Barza to power, plus the difficulties of working with a divisive and combative board, would be a powerful incentive for Dr. O’Malley to consider a higher paying position in another district.

As a courtesy, I won’t expose their names until they file their candidate petitions but I will expose their histories. How the former board member tried to install Mr. Glastein as the district superintendent and how the former employee achieved nothing in the school district. Everything in the public record is on the table, from their payment histories to their voting records. I intend to show they have no platform, no ideas, nothing to offer but revenge.

The former employee has tight connections to the local democratic leadership. The former school board member has the teachers union’s support.

In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve. It’s time to show we deserve better than these two.

So, Democrats and teachers unions are anathema to good governance of the school district? They're spiteful and vengeful miscreants? I personally will be voting for candidates who seek to resolve things collaboratively and not scapegoat the teachers. I've been rather surprised at Dr O'Malley's (and your) divisive rhetoric towards the teachers and their union. Maybe Dr. O'Malley should go.

Sorry. Didn't work. Gonna have to stoke that Kauffalooza hatefest a little higher. The bile didn't rise quite high enough to make it all the way over the page into a new post! And what the hell does B A Z R A stand for anyway?

Hey with all those lines your holding against the tax increase, when are all the cuts that will be made go public? you know the ones O'Malley said wouldn't happen?

Does the sun shine in the sky?

They planned their return the day the door hit them in the ass on their way out. Good riddance!

The nightmare that was BARZA must be fought at all costs.

Well from the post above mine it appears that the local teachers union has made their point as to who they want signing their contracts.
BARZA = Taxpayers get screwed. Fact!

I know nothing about the BOE or its politics, but Joey Warren has clearly found two new strawmen to tear apart, so he can play the righteous hero...

Best part is they're anonymous because they haven't even filed to run, but the Joey Warren rumor mill has already started to chew them up...

I mean how much more speculative, vague and ridiculous can you get, Joey?

Anonymous said...

Hey Joey,

Try not to cream your pants with the anticipation of tearing these two anonymous "Barzas" to shreds with unfounded rumors and implications of what bad people they are...

Your readers can already tell you have a hard-on since you couldn't even wait until they filed before mocking these two "Barzas"...

I mean you can't even use their names yet, but you're ready to pounce...

Get a life, Joey... really...

Where did these two people make this announcement you refer to in paragraph 2? I did not see it in the paper. When and where did it happen?

Joe McAleer said...

BARZA and their collective arrogance, uncaring attitude towards education and their unending thirst for power knew no end. The damage and extreme costs placed on the back of the taxpayers by BARZA knew no end. Thankfully the majority of their like minded people are also sitting at home mired in their self disgust.

It is my opinion that the former school board member suggested is Ms. Pat Demarest. The alluded to former employee and well known to be recently dismissed from the original position which he was hired for and then failed to execute properly may be our school district's former security director who spent too much time as an athletic coach.

While there could be a long list of those that could be the possibly disgruntled employee, it could be a list that could have included many former principals and administration staff (Superintendent Quinn not included in said list) that were forced out of their positions by BARZA and onto the street only to excel in other districts who welcomed them with open arms.

That is the true legacy of the not long enough forgotten BARZA dictatorship. They are gone and all I can say is good riddance and I hope to never see their kind again in a leadership role involving education and the spending of tax dollars. The damage they left behind is still being cleaned up and the costs are borne by all of us whether we have children in the school district, did have or never would have. All deserve a voice in the process.

The next month leaves another chance for people to register to run for the school board election. An opportunity remains to move away from the damage of BARZA type leadership.

So many criticize Dr. O'Malley and others whose short tenure has brought controversial changes and some significant while unwelcome results to be happening. The teachers' union and outspoken staff are of course not happy with his type of leadership whose ear they do not have at any moment they want.

That also seems to be heard in a resounding change that has been heralded in Trenton as well by our new Governor. The change that Gov. Christie has advised us all, is coming will be painful. The change that BARZA would bring if returned to the school board would be far more then painful. It would be horrific. Change is good. It is not always welcome, but it is most often good for the whole in the face of the few. BARZA thankfully are the few left on the school board at present and they should not be pounced on. They should be ignored. Likewise those whose big pockets and questionable campaign financing tactics border on the illegal. Politics and school boards should not mix. That is not the reality with this school board election, unfortunately.

Anonymous said...

Joe,

Are you stating that Quinn was forced out by the Barza group?

Anonymous said...

Joey,

For quite some time I have supported you - you even got my vote. As I read the comments you make on your site I have become disallusioned. You are the same as those you accuse of being politically motivated. Tell you what- take your child out of private school and enroll him at MARSD and you will more credibilty. Don't give us the religious BS. Enroll them in weekend or after school religious education.

I think it's funny how you say that a combative board would give incentive for O'Malley to leave. Have you watched yourself on tape. The current board is worse than combative to O'Malley. They are a bunch of elitists who are trying to do O'Malley's job. The guy hasn't spoke a word in a year. He already has one foot out the door, your just so busy competing with each other for the limelight that you haven't noticed.

The Thespian Variety Show was great said...

We just attended our daughters last variety show of the MARHS Thespian Society. We would like to congratulate all the teachers and administration who were involved as well as the hard working students whose talents and determination were on display this evening.

A special thank you to Ms. Walling for her continued hard work and determination that allowed our students to shine, once again.

A special (kid lingo) "shout out" to "The Crew". Katie, Samantha, Dana, Meghan, Lauren, Kristen and our own Kolleen. You girls make us so proud, all of you do, all of the time. Continue to enjoy your senior year. Your friendships at this time in your lives will be with you always. Great job girls once again.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with our current Superintendent. Nor do I believe in disparaging any potential candidates with an open heart who are willing to support the community, the students themselves, and have the best possible ends in mind for our educational system.

What I do not believe in, is a board member who appears to detest the school district that he is pledged to support and administer, who has an arrogance of attitude that is not deserved by his contributions to the community, and who holds the PTO, the teachers, and even the students in disdain.

Mr Warren, having you in a position of service in public education is about as insensitive as that of a KKK member sitting on a board of race relations, or a US President whose despises the nation he was elected to serve.

It is quite apparent that your only goal is to reduce your taxes so that you can better afford private school tuition for your children.

I believe our community can do better.

I believe that this board (who I think is the real problem) should do everything they can right now to keep Dr. Omally. As a parent of three children in this district and a long time resident, who actually supports the Barza group, I never never seen more education in this district then ever before. For the first time ever, the my kids are writing in school! The teacher's actually seem to be engaged with parents. Don't ruin my kids education, do what you need to to keep Dr. O'malley.

Anonymous said...

Annon 11:29 stated exactly what I have been saying over and over. Mr. Warren has no interest in our schools, why should he? He knows only what he hears, he has no experience with the district except from behind his desk. His only concern is $. Anyone who thought any different certainly should have had their eyes opened by now, or their interests are exactly the same as his.

Once again he shows his hypocrisy, how often do we hear him saying to people step up and be on the board if you REALLY care? Well, as soon as 2 people do(even before a public announcement)he is on his high horse campaign to insult, insinuate, and smear their names.

It is great to see that the BS he spews around here and in public is starting to pile up and he is burying himself in it. He certainly deserves it!

Anonymous said...

As for keeping O'malley don't bet on it. He has already applied elsewhere but he didn't get the job.

Anonymous said...

His plan all along was to use this district as a stepping stone to something bigger. This was to build his resume. If he is looking, which he is, he will find something else sooner or later. The problem is now the starting salary for a superintendent in this district is at least $190,000.

"[t]eachers unions are anathema to good governance of the school district?" - Yes.

"Let's hope and pray they win!" - Glad to know some people still long for the old days of sharp tax increases and bottom dwelling test scores.

"when are all the cuts that will be made go public? you know the ones O'Malley said wouldn't happen?" - There were no cuts this school year. I expect cuts for next year. Should know more next month.

"GOOD LUCK BARZA!!!!!" - Don't mind him. He's just a dolt. :)

"I know nothing about the BOE or its politics, but Joey Warren has clearly found two new strawmen to tear apart" - Nope, they're real. Besides, how can any reader of this blog not know about the BOE or its politics?

"Where did these two people make this announcement" - They privately announced their intent to several people working in the school district among others.

"The current board is worse than combative to O'Malley. They are a bunch of elitists who are trying to do O'Malley's job." - It's our job to define O'Malley's goals and responsibilities.

"You are the same as those you accuse of being politically motivated." - My "political motivation" is to improve education and reduce wasteful spending. What's yours?

"Mr Warren, having you in a position of service in public education is about as insensitive as that of a KKK member sitting on a board of race relations" - Sorry, but you're plainly clueless. Why don't you read the board minutes or the news articles and let me know what I've done that you dispute.

"I believe that this board (who I think is the real problem) should do everything they can right now to keep Dr. Omally. As a parent of three children in this district and a long time resident, who actually supports the Barza group, I never never seen more education in this district then ever before. For the first time ever, the my kids are writing in school!" - The Barza group voted against O'Malley's appointment. As for the writing, glad you appreciate the change. I was the one who pushed for it.

"His only concern is $" - Since you can obviously read, why don't you go review the record. An honest person would then apologize.

Vote for BARZA it is your right to do so. Just remember when many more people get placating jobs to ensure a political base in the PTO and elsewhere, when connected political people get jobs that keeps their opinion on finances and tax increases null and void, major construction and other equally costly BARZA controlled projects are not watched close enough, computers don't work when athletic fields get built instead of educational improvements, school board infighting replaces cooperation and far more that has been the sorrowful history of the BARZA group. It will be the children and taxpayers who will suffer at the hands of the BARZA crew that you voted in.

I say good riddance that BARZA is for the most part a memory. A really bad memory that is without hesitation.

On another note. Anything yet on the ethics complaint for the one remaining BARZA illegal fund raising school board member?

Get ready though you know calls will be coming to your overseers. Just like the last time when kz called and asked that you be fired for speaking up. God forbid anyone has an opinion that barza did not tell them to have. Keep it up Bigjoe.

Well it seems that bigjoe can't have an opinion and should not do his job either. I am glad that is settled. Now maybe the anonymous attacker who vented on joe after the jets lost can explain a couple things to the few of us they say support joe.

a. Why when people like joe point out the obvious and express their opinions does it need an attack.

b. Why do you attack him anonymously and hide behind your fear of being shown for what you really are an Interloper.

c. His points while heavily worded make for interesting discussion and he proves his points while you merely attack him for that.

d. You anonymous attackers seek to embarrass while never discussing or proving him wrong.

e. It has been said that a former school board member called and asked to have joe fired. What would you do if you thought someone wanted you fired anonymous for speaking your mind.

f. I know what I would do. It would not have been lady like i'll tell you that.

The best thing is joe is still standing and knows what to do if someone comes after him again. What do you think that will cost the school board for a member crossing the line like that.

KellyK two said...

One more thing anonymous what is your anonymous opinion on the pending ethics complaint that joe brought up. Money and politics is like oil and vinegar. It separates our money from the substance that is leadership. Don't you think. Attack away.

Bettyand Tom said...

Knowing Joe from the old neighborhood it is easy to attack him. After all he only wanted to improve our neighborhood and showed those doing the job were not doing the job. He now does that job and we are glad he does. Attack away Anonymous as it only gives him fuel. Just ask Gartley and Murphy and the others no longer in leadership positions to ply their arrogance against us residents. He is very vocal and we say that is good. Those who attack him don't know him much less what he does for them. It is easy to attack that which you do not understand. We think the attacker may have history with Joe and comes from that to criticize him. They won't tell you that though as it is too easy to just seek to embarrass and attack him. It won't work. He is no angel but he cares. We say that is good for all of us except those who may be their own problem he tries to correct.

Aberdeener said...

Years ago, Joe McAleer was a regular letter writer to the Independent, complaining about wasteful spending and general incompetence. One day, one of the Barza crew contacted Mayor Sobel to complain about a "township employee" who had crossed the line and publicly attacked a school board member.

That's one of the other undocumented stories that never gets discussed. A school board member tried to use his position to silence or oust a longtime resident who works for the township.

Anonymous said...

Now people are attacking Joey for doing his job? Imagine that. If Joe does his job, gives his warnings and people like our anonymous attacker go after him for their won failures. How is that Joeys fault? They did not do what they were supposed to do to help themselves. Right? Joey is just a sacrificial lamb from either side. Imagine working like that every single day. Would you?

RetPDWhoKnowsHowitis said...

Good point made by post above mine. We are a society that so easily criticizes public officials and employees under the governmental dome. Now someone who does his job gets abused for doing the exact same job they get paid to do. You can be sure the couple of people who complain are the ones that should be ignored. They complain rather then fix or comply. I worked with Joe and I would not want that job for anything. The term sold down the river comes to mind immediately. Joe used to tell me that no one wants a guy like him around until they go to sell a house and want the whole area cleaned up in a week. That would be the same area they ignored until it effected them financially. Now all of a sudden they want Joe to do the same job on their behalf that they criticized him for years ago. Criticized him from an anonymous posting remember.

What board members wife recently got a job? Is that possible?

Art L Ken Gardens said...

Just off of the train and I thought I would catch up. I see that not much has changed from the anonymous accusers it seems.

School Board members wife gets a job in the district that she was already working in. So? Do we ignore the people who are already working here? What does that do for morale and wanting to rise in the ranks? It destroys morale but that does not matter to the anonymous accusers. It is all about embarrassing those who comment or stick themselves out their using their real names. Those whom accuse anonymously are the ones who should be embarrassed.

How many jobs did Cathy Z. and John B. give away in their efforts to maintain their positions of control and divisiveness on the school board?

Then I read that Joe Mc gets attacked again for speaking out. That will not stop him. His speaking out works just fine for me and mine by the way. I remember just one example of his caring for the rest of us as we went on with our busy lives. That was when Joe Mc was highly critical of the Murphy administration that kept our Police Officer manpower numbers below safe levels. Where were those who criticize Joe then? They were not standing next to Joe when he called for the then Police Chief to resign for not supporting his own men in front of the Murphy crew.

Then there are the usual comments and idiotic grass cutting and more as to whose name is on a deed. Grow up already. If that is all you got you are wasting your time.

Then I read something really disturbing. The possible candidates for the school board have been suggested to be??? just two more puppets with revenge motivation who want to be a rusty bolt in the educational machine that may be starting to change and, wait for it, maybe make people accountable. God forbid that happens.

I love the ABERDEENER and all of the people who seek to shine the light on those skulking in the dark. If they think we are wasting our time why do they bother to log on and comment and criticize? Who tells them to do it?

That was the man that some criticize and how he was ignored. I can assure you anyone that tangles with him now would be amazed at his drive and desire. I knew Joe and his wife when Dennis Davino was on the council. I lived a few blocks from Joe when my wife was alive. I saw him and talked with him often and know he cares. He stood up when many others stayed home. Not much has changed and that is too bad.

I live in an apartment now and am slowly learning this computer thing. I hope this answers your question. Make sure if you come at Joe you are prepared. Murphy and the others are long gone and Joe remains. Some will criticize that fact from their computers as they are afraid of people like Joe who put themselves out there. Like Joe says it is America. I talk to him now and then as it is hard since he was so fond of my wife.

As for the Aberdeener author I have never spoken to him. I do not agree with some of what is on here and Joe is right. It is America. For now. It seems that many of our leaders are trying to give our freedoms away and guilt us into thinking that hard work and standing up to be heard is a thing of the past. They are wrong.

As you may have noticed, I don't report on sporting events or other competitions, with the sole exception of the football championship, which merited a pep rally and parade.

Or are you just trying to stir the pot and continue to attack Mr. Warren for his out spoken behavior, and attempts to shed light on all past abuse by old BARZA members. I'm betting you have "close connections" to old BARZA board member who might try to run again for BOE.

Did everyone not get the memo? The Aberdeener does not serve a purpose. It is just a few (?) people rambling on and on about corruption, unaccountable political bosses and their corruption? Don't you know that is why the council, school board and their hangers on follow it so closely and criticize us for speaking out and highlight their conduct, inaction and malfeasance. They all know it alerts residents and busines people to the problems we all face and the leadership that is responsible and may fail in their roles. They are also responsible sometimes for the problems who they themselves create or allow to exist or to allow others to profit from.
Welcome to our nightmare.

Anonymous said...

Anon above, that's funny! Makes no sense considering those who were in control for so many years though. The hangers on though, are BARZA and their followers who now feel the loss of their control. They don't run the show any more and they don't like it. Too bad.

Finally our school district is moving in the right direction and showing progress. And yes, it has been publicized in the local media and by Dr. O'Malley. MAMS had a write up in the local paper about students recent achievements, and Dr.O'Malley notified everyone of the students recent gains in standardized test.

And lastly to I Section Father, We all received the e-mail directly from the school district about the wrestling team. Maybe you should sign up to the school website, being such a concerned father with children in the school district.

Here is what I dont get.

Joey can complain about no one taking a stand and running for BOE. Talks about how he is serving the community. THE SECOND, others apply for whatever reasons (how about help their community), HE ATTACKS THEM. Says he will do whatever he can to help them lose????????????????????????

Joe Mc gets defended when his job is questioned and plays the "WOE IS ME" role.

But he can attack a guy who worked for the school with out all the facts??? How the hell did he know what the security guy did or did not do? He worked well with the Aberdeen police from what I gathered. In fact, you come off like more of an ass because he DONATED and VOLUNTEERED his time to help the baseball program AFTER his day at MARSD was over. Like JOE MC wrote letters to the Independent AFTER his work day was over.

He put in more time than you can believe. Joey begs for professionals to help out with our kids. This man was a COLLEGE COACH and volunteered his time with our baseball team. But Joe Mc didnt like him so he felt the need to disbarrage him.

Not far behind was Joey saying this same man was a former disgruntled employee. From what I gathered after INVESTIGATION was that he was blind sided by being let go right as his daughter was getting married and his son was about to start college (big money). Who would be doing backflips with that news at that time. But Joey can write on here about people suffering in these economic times but this man does not get the same lee-way??

But if Joe W OR Joe Mc say it, it must be true????

I am happy my kids and relatives had the opportunity to encounter this particular individual.

This site is such trash. It started out with a purpose and now is listless.......

If he did his job properly he would still be there. Maybe call O'Malley and ask why the volunteer you praise was let go. It was not for the supposed millions he kept telling everyone he saved the district. More BS from a guy who did not do his job.

I won't vote for him anyway as you can bet he got the call from Mr. K to run. He would just be another hack like we don't have enough already beholding to Mr. K.

I used to work for the Board of Education. I usually sit on the sidelines and do not agree with much posted here. I do want to correct one thing that was on here today. Joe Mcaleer is the reason that Rich Vitalliano was put in the position that he had initially. While Joe was not part of the selection process. Joe was very instrumental in getting that position created though. It was simple for him to do though. All Joe had to do was write a letter addressing the internally hidden fact that students were being injured in our schools . Two recent examples at that time were even unknown to Superintendent Quinn who then met with Joe on those two incidents. From that meeting increased cameras and security were installed and additional security people were eventually supervised by Rich Vitalliano. So criticize away.

Say what you will the guy puts himself out there,
whether you like him or not who cares. At least someone does something. Not the anonymous attackers who add nothing but criticism and baseless attacks against those who let us down weekly. So blame Joe for standing up and being loud. But you better thank him for trying to make our kids a little safer in the face of those who are supposed to do that job and do not. Quinn was proof of that.

Safer Ha! I'm still waiting to hear about the gang memeber who was strolling the halls looking for a student. I'm still waiting to hear about the now 3 incidents with drugs in the last couple of weeks. Yes, things are much safer now.

Look it is sooooo simple. The guy used his friends to get him on the school payroll. Used politicians who knew people on the school board. Then he got what he deserved for not doing his job and spending all his time thinking about coaching, coaching and running errands for Gorilla Joe. Maybe he can get a job as a gofer for Gorilla Joe. Better yet let him volunteer for this baseball season since he is on unemployment and may be on a pension. Excuse me if I don't cry for this guy.

The comments on this site are ridiculous!! How can a man that volunteered his time to help the youth of our community be spoken harshly about. The man was the security director of the district. made less money the the in house employees of Chartwells in the cafe and because helped coach baseballyou idiots think he got let go? Please. Why would anyone frown upon a highly qualified(college head coach) volunteering his time for kids of the district. Absolutely ludicrous! With the steady flow of cars running out of the lot after school it should be highly appreciated what anyone volunteers to do.

Notsurprised said...

Hey Turdbandit

Do you volunteer at your job after hours?

Anonymous said...

My son played for him. He did his job until the time allowed AND THEN went to baseball practice. He was a volunteer. He has volunteered for many years now.

Volunteered. After his job hours. Like someone else said, the Aberdeener calls for people in the community to stand up and volunteer to help our kids. This man did just that. Who cares if he worked for A and P or the district. Dont defame the man by saying he was a coach with a security job title. It was just the opposite. I know what I am talking aobut, not specualting or attacking like others.

By the way, HIS POSITION was eliminated. It was not replaced. Fired means you were replaced by someone else. In order to save money, the position was ELIMINATED.

What a shame, that a BOE member allows these unfounded attacks on people. Way to set a good example.

And allow our children to be put at risk. We have little to no security in that HS.

Anonymous said...

I watch daily as security at the HS vanishes. Soon I will-thank god.

The position was removed by the Superintendent and the school board followed those recommendations. Schools are not safe in all areas because when students get in trouble counselors and principals baby them. That is what leads to violence and repeatedly violent behavior never really being sufficiently curtailed. FACT!

The coaches office was the most secure room in the building while he was employed there.

The coaches office being the most secure was hilarious. True and funny.

If Richie V. wins a school board seat it will be the biggest joke in Aberdeen. I don't think he meets the criteria, 18 years of age and can read and write! Maybe we should give him a test before he runs!

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately, he wins and O'Malley definitely bolts. Why would he want to listen to an illeterate idiot like him.

Anonymous said...

Like listening to Jerry Donahue is any different? By the way, the next time you accuse someone of being illiterate try spelling it correctly.

Anonymous said...

oh cause it is easier to listen to elitist no-it-all's like
O'Connell, Kenny, and Warren who think that their knowledge is best and try to override O'Malley regularly. At least RV would actually let the superintendent do his own job for the 185,000 he gets.

January 29, 2010 10:57 PM

LMAO....illeterate huh?
What a hypocrite you are.

Of course he'll bolt, he wouldn't have the board doing his job for him anymore! Why would you want to get paid all that money and then have to do your job ontop of it? He'd rather sit back, collect a hefty check, and let the morons on the board dictate his every move.

Anonymous said...

I for one am tired of all this elitist bullshit. We need as many people as possible running for these elected positions without the elitists deciding whats good for us. If Rich decides to run the electorate should hear what he has to say and make a decision based on that. This smear tactic to discourage applicants is not good for the community.

What was JL thinking? said...

Richie V is just another corrupt Kauff pick to just get another person to be connected to a voting block. Can anyone say Maroon and Steel (steal) Club? Or the organization run and repeatedly not properly registered with the state of NJ by the Martucci clan.

Just look at the people recently picked to run under the Kauff umbrella of corruption. We got Tagliarini, Lauro, Montone, Vitaliano. The next thing they will do is honor Vitaliano at the Scudeiri Italian American Club in Freehold.

Last year they honored Collabelli and the year before they honored Jimmy Lauro. My buddies wife said Jimmy was not even a member of their club before he found out he was going to be honored. You can bet that Kauff just needed some more polish to take away all the corrupt shit Jimmy witnessed kauff and Coren do all those years.

I really liked Jimmy until he drank the Kauff koolaid. Now he is no different then all the others who looked the other way while Kauff and Coren robbed us blind. Jimmy was really a disappointment to many. He must have owed Kauff really big to drink that much koolaid and sit on the council as a puppet. It could not have been for the money.

I just love how people on here complain that no one will stand up and serve. A man puts in paper work to possibly run for BOE and a BOE member, a town worker who knows EVERYTHING, and annonymous hacks SMEAR, attack, and are down right rude.

And the worst is - a BOE member who says he has integrity allows pwople to attacks others who may be trying to serve their town as he does.

What a hypocrite...

Serve, the man can't hold onto a wife, job and can't count to ten. Great-let's make hime a school board member!

Jim Clark said...

He does not know everything and he never said he did. But he speaks out for more that he feels is wrong, much more then many would who hold a public position. You would probably be silent if they went after your job. He is not and just let them come after him again. The guy busts his ass for you. At least he stands up and makes himself known. Who would you be anonymous at 8:07? At least you could sign on as *ignorant* in the face of the facts you question or are told to question. Your a joke.

Hey anonymous at 8:07 welcome to America. This is where opinions placed into the public domain can be ignored or just as easily as confirmed as true. When Demarest and Richie do declare to run for the board who will have known the truth from the start? The opinions placed on here are no less important and might keep them in their place. They have the chance to run and be talked about before, during and after. Will they? We will see. Isn't America great?

Joey, what is this about? Is O'Malley leaving?

Here come the big contract raises again. This is now out of control.

Anonymous said...

He isn't leaving they are getting ready to give him another outrageous pay increase!

Wow The Amazing Kreskin is on the Aberdeener. The seer of seers, the knower of all, the man with the plan. We are honored to have you here Mr. Kreskin.

Kauff on the other hand is still scum and costs us taxpayers too much with all of his corruption and insider developmental deals that go NOWHERE.

Right Normy?

Anonymous said...

You don't have to be Kreskin to know if contract changes posted in the paper means a change to his contract is coming. According to his contract he is to get a $3,000.00 increase this year. If no changes then no public notice needs to be given. Changes are coming. We don't need to hear from the Amazing Kreskin, but we do need to hear from the Amazing Joey Warren.

joey dont eat that you dont know where its been said...

Joey would put O'Maley's genitals in his mouth if told to do so. O'Malley is to Joey, what Joey says Kauff is to the Dems.

Anonymous said...

Joey,
Why would O'Malley have it posted in the newspaper that his contract would be amended? Are you prepared to give him another big raise? Will he actually ask for another large increase from the taxpayers after last years with some areas slightly improving and others not? Does anyone in this school district realize that a recession is going on and three thousand dollars is more than most people received this year? Is it because every year he is going to threaten to leave unless he receives large amounts of cash to stay? Most would agree that superintendents salaries have gotten out of control and this may prove it.

Anonymous said...

Superintendent must be preparing for new board members who might not be in favor of a increase more than the contractual $3000 so soon (less than year) after his last 6.7% increase. This increase will seal their fate as board members.

Just pointing out the obvious said...

If anyone would care to educate themselves on the new NJ State laws regarding Superintendent's contracts, rather than just speculating on what may be ALLOWED in terms of raises, etc. a good place to start is nj.gov -- really perhaps, just once, we should get educated ourselves about some of this stuff instead making gross comments (really? genitals?) or speculating about what kind of increases we will see in taxes. We live in NJ! The whole damned state is going to see increases this year, contract or not! I am not making any statement for or against renewing the contract or O'Malley as a superintendent or the board or the motives behind anything they do or don't do or why. I just think that it might be good if taxpayers start taking the time to educate themselves with the REAL facts about things, independently, rather than being spoon fed by Mr. Warren, who has one point of view or listening to the rather skewed opinions of random posters on a blog. And yes, before some bright mind points it out, I realize I am posting on a blog.

Aberdeener said...

Sorry,

Just got back from an undeserved week of vacation and am going through all the comments. (Super Bowl halftime show looks pretty lame.)

Regarding O'Malley's contract, there haven't been any proposed changes to the contract, yet. There's been some informal talk and the notice is in case we do decide to recommend some changes for a board vote.

Sorry, but I can't discuss details unless the board makes an actual recommendation.
