Can You Hear Me Now?

For two and a half years, nobody has tried vandalizing this blog until now. Tuesday night, during the Passover holiday when I could not monitor the blog, somebody ran a computer program generating the comment "Tell the truth, Mr. Warren” at a rate of 17 messages per minute. By the time it was discovered and stopped, 550 repetitive comments were posted under Rodeo Clowns in the MRTA.

Blogger only allows the programs to be removed one at a time. I asked one of my programmers to write a program to delete the spam. However, between the script posting the spam and a second script removing it, Blogger appears to have flagged the article. Although the comments are still being received and still appear in the recent comments section, they’re not appearing in the main article. Hopefully, this is a temporary problem.

If the comments do not reappear by tomorrow, I will post all the comments within the article itself.

As for the vandal, you can thank him for the new security measures I’ve had to implement. Moving forward, all comments will require “word verification” to prevent automated spammers.

However, let’s remember it was just one guy and not representative of any group in our community. We will continue to debate even if we have to work a little bit harder at it.

So much for open thought and discussion. This childish act, although there have been others, just goes to show that this site leaves its mark and those it highlights, exemplifies or even embarasses can strike back. It will nopt keep us from highlighting the greedy, corrupt, inept, too politically controlled and more that lurk in our community.
Here is a subject the Aberdeener can look into. Why don't we read any police blotter entries when they are printed for many surrounding communities in our newspapers. I for one would like to know where and what types of crime are going on in our area. It seems we have no crime if we cannot read a recap of what our officers respond to or assist with for its residents. What is the reason that many other communities print such info except our town.

NSectionJoe said...

Our men and women in blue work hard and the proof of that is in the safety of our town through that hard work. I also think it is a strong possibility that our local newspapers may not ask towns like ours for such information.

I checked my paper this week and the towns listed for publication were Asbury Park, Long Branch and Neptune. I think it may have been a distribution error to have those towns listed in a northern APP paper. One would think for our area paper that Middletown, Holmdel and the like would have been printed for our area.

Let us first and foremost applaud our Police Officers, First Aid, Fire Department and C.E.R.T. for all of their hard work. They are there for us 24/7/365.

Keep it up Mr. Warren. I for one am waiting on the budgets to get published for Matawan. Will everyone sacrafice in the effort? In Matawan we went to a four day work week as it was supposed to help with costs. I hope it is keeping people employed and continuing in servicing the community at large. That needs to be the priority.

As was stated above our emergency services are to be applauded and more importantly respected. So too are our municipal employees who too often go unrecognized. In one of the recent snowstorms we stopped a snow plower and gave him some coffee and a warm thank you. From the expression on his face it does not happen too often. That is too bad.

The fact that someone would go to such lengths to silence the Aberdeener, only proves to me that those exposed for their years of control and corruption are desperate, and will do anything to keep the game going.

I can only hope this means more and more people are finally starting to see the truth.

Sure just let the corrupt rule the day. Let Kauff and his underlings tell us they are not corrupt and self contributing with our tax dollars. The next thing that will be said is that Obama does not want to force a redistribution of wealth. You see Obama and his men and women at the top dont like successful people because people who work hard and attain wealth are evil in their eyes.

I would also like to see a police blotter somewhere, as many other communities provide them. It might keep homeonwers vigilant for repeat crimes like the tire slasher in A and D sections.

Additionally, could someone please look into the constant 24 hour construction field office by the entrance of the parkway on Llyod Rd. It seems to have grown from a storage area for a project to the active 24hr field office it now seems to be.

I have personally witnessed at least a dozen near accidents and almost was in a couple. the constant trucks stopping, parking, backing up, etc. seems to create a dangerous atmosphere.

I would also like to know if this area is zoned for such use, and if our town is being compensated legally for such use.

Thanks to anyone else interested with the time/knowledge to act.

Hopefully, the regular comments will soon return and I can remove the "fix".

The situation by the parkway entrance on Lloyd Road is a piece of property jointly owned by the Garden State Parkway and NJ Transit when i called about it last year. It has been used for the last two years without fail by companies doing work in the area. Both of those agencies may be using the site or at least that is what I was told. Since i live nearby i have to admit it is in a wierd spot and most of the work seems to be going on in the late afternoon when i come off of my bus or later in the night. I hope that helps you. Try calling the police and see if they have gotten complaints. It seems low impact to me and I live really close.

Boy Aberdeener, you sure must be hitting close to home! I wonder...does the culprit understand the concept of IP addresses? One would have to very brazen in this day and age, given the number of IP tracker programs and services available.....in a 10 minute Google search....
Guess when corrupt animals get backed into a corner this how they behave.

NSECJ answer pkwy ? said...

NCECJ should know about that site by the parkway. Lets see if he responds.

NsectioJoe said...

The response by HLSantaFe resident is true. I also live close to the site and have seen no problems at the site over the past three years, with the exception of a littering problem that was addressed with the removal of a specific contractor, by one of the agencies involved.

I would have to say it is a much cleaner site the past year under the latest contractor, who has been authorized to utilize the site by these agencies.

I would suggest that if you have any specific complaints or proof as to the unsafe conditions, that you have observed, that you contact the Twp. of Aberdeen Police Department.

I hope that information helps the anonymous poster from 2:42 today.

Why does Aberdeen have to put up with that 24 hour construction yard? It has been a perpetual "temporary" construction staging yard complete with trailers hooked in to the grid due to the roadside location. I believe the entrance driveway to their "yard" is in violation of the Turnpike Authority's own standards for collector roads and are liable for allowing such activity when this equipment can be located minutes south at the Telegraph Hill maintenance yard. I wonder if the county cares about what they did to their curb? Is this proper use of this land? Do they hold a permit? Does Aberdeen or Hazlet receive any money for the telecommunications shack that was built there a few years ago and have to look at that eyesore forever?

Imagine the disaster if vandals rolled a truck onto the train tracks!

What the hell to this anonymous poster is very simple.

DID YOU CALL AND COMPLAIN??????

IT HAS BEEN EXPLAINED TO BE A PROPERTY THAT IS OWNED BY A STATE AGENCY OR AGENCIES. SUCH PLACES WITH TRAILERS INCLUDED MUST BE APPROVED MORE THEN LIKELY BY THE TOWN THEY ARE LOCATED IN. THEN AGAIN IT IS A STATE AGENCY. DID YOU CALL THE POLICE OR FIRE DEPARTMENT? DID YOU CALL THE MAYOR WITH ALL OF YOUR FEARS AND CONCERNS? THE AREA HAS BEEN THERE FOR OVER THREE YEARS AND NOW YOU ARE FRUSTRATED.

CALL SOMEONE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE AND WHO CAN LOOK INTO YOUR RANTING AND RAVING QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS.

SMOKE A JOINT AND RELAX WILL YA?

The sky is falling.

Some idiot is worried about a fenced in site near a railroad track. Seriously people grow up and stop waiting for the end of man. I read this before and took a ride over there. I work in Jersey City and what I saw there today is more secure then 90% of construction sites in the state.

Give me a break.

Grow up. Grow a pair. And call someone who cares.

Anonymous said...

I brought up the construction site because like I said it started out as a tiny storage area that has little by little grown into a busy field office that has trucks in and out stopping on the road parking on causing near accidents. It is not new but it also didn't start off this way. I just wanted to see if anyone else had a concern or if anyone knew what the townships arrangement was. Since you say it is state owned cotacting the township police would have no effect on the usage. I wouldn't even know who to call to determine the legality of its usage. And I don't plan on calling the police for some jerkoff driving like an ass unless there actually is an accident cuz its a waste of time and nothing will happen. Anyway thanks for the animated opinons...I will now go twist one up and relax myself.
Safe driving, all.

Anonymous said...

Way to check up on a construction office on Good Friday...I wonder why you didn't see any activity. And it's not about the site being secure its about the road hazard it creates by its location (or at least its entrance/exit location).

Perceived hazard is BS said...

It seems someone has a lot of time on there hands to worry about bad purported hazardous traffic spots in our little hamlet. I have a suggestion for Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous safety person of the year. Maybe Councilman Vincie can give up one of the two DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION signs that he had posted at the end of his one way street just to make sure that none of the us little people could block his street. I mean after all they are the only two such signs that warn any and all drivers to not block an intersection in the entire town. Should we expect any different behavior from a self serving political hack like him.

So keep imagining the horror of someone not watching the road, driving to fast or being distracted from talking on the phone.

That type of behavior happens on every street in America.

Now where did I put my rolling papers.

Is Councilman Vincy up for reelection anytime soon? I hear he is done now that Christie is in charge. I also hear Normy is playing less of a role. I hear Normy may be working on his last few corruption filled development approvals to bankroll his retirement and the next democratic election cycle.

On another subject did anyone see the article on the three family members who run the Old Bridge Sewer and Water Authority. Seems the top three people are all closely related by blood and run the whole show with millions and millions of dollars under their collusional control. Seems the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office may be undertaking a major investigation.

Likewise people say Aberdeen and Monmouth County is still rife with corruption. Our own Normy is the proof of that we can be sure. Then again there is considerable discussion that Prosecutor Valentin may be replaced soon . He is sadly no better then John Kaye when it comes to seekinmg out and prosecuting political corruption in our midst. He is such a disappointment to our people.

Is it legal to do something that reeks of insider deals on the tax payer monies.

Insider deals is the backbone of our Norman Kauff. He sets himself up to be the king then lets all of the others he controls do his bidding. You see Norman Kauff does notreally exist. He is the shadow in the supposed shadow government government crap that happens in many towns across NJ that has many Kauff types politically stealing from all of us. It does not make it right except that when you want the title of Councilman or Mayor in front of their name to stroke an ego. It is so telling of what some will do to be awarded such a title. It is like the three little monkees of old. One sees no eveil, one hears no evil and most importantly one speaks no evil. All of them no matter the costs of Kauff and those like him ensures that nobody says a word. That is the Vic Scudeiri and Norman Kauff democratic rule. Right Norm?

I hope the town workers come out screaming if he tries to lay off even one person who works for the town. God knows he does not work for the town. Normy works for himself and we pay a great cost for all of his hard work.

Where does that money go when the high school is rented to people we also rent out the Middle school to homdel Volley ball , while our kids roam the streets. School activities have been tossed out of gyms for people willing to pay an example is the color guard has been tossed out of mams what happen to kids first, I guess we are slum lords too, this is not the first time this question has been asked and yes I have a problem with gyms being rented when kids have nowhere to go but Strathmore plaza and A& p shopping center, how about using that money for the kids and run a teen center

Teens need a place to go said...

Why don't you ask the town leaders what they can do for the children in our community? What improvement has there been in the last twelve years under the present democrat controlled leadership? Not much of it has helped the teens in the community have somewhere to go.
Don't get me wrong over the past ten years they have put new playground equipment and that volleyball net last year at the beach.

I think it falls far short for the recreational needs of our community. Some said a while back that the old pool club I drive past going to work everyday should have been given to the community for town activities. I know it is centrally located with parking and could have been a benefit with a skatepark. Perhaps some sort of logo or company sponsorship could have been sought to offset costs with naming rights or something like that. Something needs to be done for our youth to get them out of shopping centers.

Anonymous said...

The shopping center by taco bell is overrun with kids most of the weekend and summer. The skateboarding and large numbers of kids cannot be good for the businesses. Is there a policy or agreement that lets them hang out at the property or is the center owner afraid of the A.C.L.U. filing suit.

Does anyone now what is happening with the Cambridge Club? In the Fall of 2008 I believe the zoning board approved the renovation for the old strathmore swim club. This was promised to be a year round venue for the families. What is going on?

jp from the beach said...

Mr Warren is it true that the teachers were willong to take a pay freeze and the b.o.e turn it down? Why were the pink slips sent out the day before the meeting?

Anonymous said...

The pool club is a privately owned property. It is zoned as a commercial/recreational property. It is a for profit business enterprise under recreational zoning approvals and standards.

It will be a paid membership facility with year round activities and availability. It is not funded with taxpayer monies at all.

It is obviously a considerable undertaking with plans and reviews that has to be reviewed I would think by the town, county and N.J.D.O.T., which may be causing delays for the builder and owner in their initial start up.

The plans are available at town hall for your review if you like. You may have to make an appointment to see the plans though. I hope that helps you with your concerns as to the site.

I am quite certain that anything will be an improvement over what was there that was allowed to decay and blight our community when it was the swim club. That was a real mess and I don't miss it one bit. Good riddance I say to the old pool club.

Just got the mail and see I just received the" MRTA Newsletter". Am I mistaken, or do we just receive this "newsletter" once a year before election and teacher contract renewal time. If so, it seems to be more of an election tactic than an actual newsletter. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

There appears to be so much game playing at the expense of our children.

Anonymous said...

Don't blame the kids, blame the leaders that have been in control all these years and haven't provided any place for the older kids to go. We need a large centrally located, multi purpose park for everyone to go. Yes, all the school have the fields, but organized sports are on all of them. And while many teens use the fields for school sports, teens have much more free time. Also, many teens don't participate in school sports and need a place to go. Don't complain about the teens if you're not willing to give them something as a better alternative. So much is given to the younger kids, (which I still have young ones), but then we provide little or nothing to the teens and young adults of the community.

I received my MRTA newsletter today too. Can't remember the last time I received one. Irontically a cover story is about a "real world" economics class.
Of course we care about our children and want the best for them, but the bottom line is the current property tax basis for funding the local school systems cannot be sustained without freezes, cuts or additional financial support (federal, state--NJEA re). Salary freezes and shared cost of healthcare should be across the board--all employees --and every single line item in the budget should be scrutinized...e.g., do we pay software licensing fees? How about OpenOffice instead of Microsoft? etc.

I got the MRTA paper in my mailbox today also. It looks nice unopened in my recycling pile. It will soon be recycled and probably end up in someones bathroom on a spinning holder type device that will dispens a varied number of sheets on demand with a specific purpose.
That is exactly where politically motivated and scheeming diatribes like that belong. As a matter of fact the MRTA propoganda sits right next to the last piece of political trash I got from Congressman Pallone, that was apid for at taxpayers expense.
They no no shame either of them.
I will proudly vote the school budget down and one of the reasons is the MRTA once a year directive. I also look forward to the "FOR THE CHILDREN" signs that will be placed on the side of the raod just before the election. Paid for by the MRTA of course.

Next thing the teachers union will try and tell us is that they won't give up a years salary because it will effect all of their stipends, benefits and retirements down the road. If things keep going the way they are now they will need to realize that their pensions won't be funded. They are not entitled. Maybe then they will see what their union won't do on their behalf. 120+ million $$$$ without having to tell their union members where that money goes. Kauff - Kauff recommended the township appoint a firm where he is "of counsel", meaning he is affiliated with that firm. Not illegal nor even unethical under normal circumstances.

Teens - What do other towns do that we don't or don't do as well?

MRTA - If the union chooses to offer any substantial concessions, I'm guessing it will be well publicized. The MRTA never offered a pay freeze. Their newsletter is once a year. How they spend their money is their business. As for the pink slips, we are required to give notice to all people who could "potentially" be terminated. Many people received notices who will almost certainly not be terminated. However, for legal purposes, we need to issue the notice and then later rescind the notice.

Election - April 20th, I'll be writing a post tonight.

Cambridge Club - I believe they're still in the process of having certain variances approved. I wish them the best of luck. Watching the demolition from my dining room window, I can tell you nothing has been constructed but the demolition is complete.

Chartwells - The cafeteria workers were members of the SEIU. To save costs (and actually turn a small profit), the operation was outsourced to Chartwells. Now Chartwells is being accused by the SEIU of overcharging. There's no evidence they have been overcharging us and we're happy with the relationship.
