Saw a good story about CERT in Community Magazine that comes in the mail. The description of what the members get trained in is very impressive.
Was glad to see the volunteers are getting recognized for their time,effort and willingness to help others.
But, while reading the story there is one glaring thing missing. Representation from Aberdeen’s Emergency Management Officials as listed in 2014 calendar i.e. Coordinator/Chief of Police, 2 Deputy Coordinators and Town Council members.
Question is: Do we really need 3 people to work as coordinators and how much extra money are they paid? Interesting point is that 1 of the deputy coordinators retired from the Fire Department in 2000 and is now 81 years old. We have nothing against seniors but Really why not someone younger.
Kudos to the Mayor of Matawan, OEM CERT coordinator of Matawan, Keyport Chief of Police, OEM CERT coordinator of Keyport and the First Aid and Council people from Keyport for attending the graduation.
Congratulations for a job well done to Herb Caravella Aberdeen-Matawan CERT Coordinator.
The town did not get a lot of real damage from Hurricane Sandy as one can easily see in comparison to some of our neighboring communities and I have no doubt that our corrupted to the core town leaders conveniently used that event as a partial excuse for another unnecessary tax increase. An increase placed almost annually upon us to cover the downhill slide of mismanagement that started with political favored payouts for politically connected open space purchases. This town spends our money to buy property that they themselves control the actual use and approvals of. That makes sense to who?
The winter storms we've had this year will for sure serve as a partial excuse to be a part of the magic show of political corruption. The democratic show that will certainly have the same unethical politicians and their puppet manager putting our tax money in the dark and politically connected spinning box of democratic corruption where it always seems to magically disappear.
Too often in Aberdeen it's Just a simple wave of the corrupt magic wand coupled with a little distraction like Sandy damage or more snow clearing costs to raise our taxes. That corrupt practice coupled with well placed news articles to make us business owners and residents think our morally challenged public servants are doing anything but mismanaging the towns treasury. The mismanagement here is not occasional it is historic.
If I ran my business like our towns management operate the towns finances I would not have been in business even one year. Sure my business like so many others are struggling and we make tough choices based on money in and money out. When it comes to municipal, state or federal choices they only continue the same old and highly questionable financial decisions. Local actions and corrupt decisions have even reportedly drained our local surplus. A surplus is kept in a lockbox that most towns fall back on in emergencies only. Our leaders seem to use our surplus as a piggy bank to cover their financial mismanagement and outright corrupt political spending practices. We who run our businesses cannot to continue to raise taxes on the back of us taxpayers struggling to survive.

The average Aberdeen taxpayer may think that their elected officials would have spent their budget meetings trying to give the taxpayers a long overdue break from the highest taxes in the county. The real politically corrupt and probable reality is that they have probably spent the past years of such meetings unfortunately under the corrupt singular democratic party control only covering their financial mismanagement that you pay for year after year. The real problem is your corrupt and unethical politicians don't care one bit how much they will again raise your taxes because they will simply raise their own taxes to cover their increases while you continue to suffer under the curse that is the democrat control and corrupt manipulation to only cater to the towns engineers that really run your town. Some time ago during contract negotiations the town unions having been rebuffed for pay increases disclosed that they would investigate the towns contracts and high costs incurred to employ those exact same engineers. Seems our unions intent once disclosed brought a total reversal by the town council. We are soon to be in negotiations again and will this time be armed with the recent monies spent on open space with the reported political connections to have been the driving force for the illegal kickbacks to fund the democratic party and the engineers once again. This is real Aberdeen under the democrats. See you soon at the negotiating table. I would suggest you bring sharper pencils this time. If only politicians would use their power for good instead of evil.

Just watched Senate President Steve Sweeney on television talking about the importance of shared services in New Jersey municipalities like ours and how it needs to be done to lower property taxes, improve services and better our local communities. That's why the asshole of a mayor and town council in corrupterdeen will never do it. I have to ask the Dems are useless author if he saw the article in the first third of the Independent paper highlighting the plight of the community volunteers on the CERT group that is expanding from the articles tome. How about either of the municipal buildings, a volunteer firehouse club room or one of their seldom or never allowed to be rented halls. Most of us who read about politicians being caught up in varying troubles, scandals and such watching the scandal end with a guilty plea. A guilty plea after what is often years of very public denials while being paid of course by us taxpayers whose trust they violated. Denials and laughable statements by said politicians like "I am innocent of all these charges" and "I await my day in court " only to eventually plead guilty sheepishly with head bowed in court. Some say it is politics as usual or business as usual here in New Jersey. In our little town laughingly called Kaufferdeen for the illegal control by Norma Kauff where it is not business as usual. After reading the story about CERT in the Independent, I went looking at Aberdeen township’s website for information on CERT and found that they are listed as a community organization but do not have any pages on town website and you have to connect to Facebook to find them. What’s up with that? Why does the Economic Business council have many pages on two different places on our website but a group like Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is not and must put there information out on Facebook which many people do not go on?
I looked at Aberdeen-Matawan CERT on Facebook and found they have so much good information that should be on Aberdeen’s town website. The CERT page had
"Adopt a Hydrant” piece and last night on news they had a story about the same thing in other communities and how important it is. I wonder do we have “Adopt a Hydrant” here in Aberdeen and how do residents get told about it, how they can help by cleaning the snow off hydrants and the benefits of it in the event you ever needed the fire department.
While on CERT Facebook page there was also a piece about “House Numbers”. It stated that the Police, Fire, EMS might have trouble locating your house in an emergency if you do not have numbers on your house. We found in the code book that Aberdeen does have an ordinance requiring house numbers but it is apparently not enforced or told to residents since there are many homes without numbers.
Why are these two items not on the Aberdeen town website to inform the residents?
Why is this information not in any Aberdeen newsletters instead of putting pictures of politicians doing nothing and stories of things past?
Why is this information not in the Aberdeen town calendar?
Is it true that Aberdeen has a Public Information Officer? What does that person do?

Monmouth finds it advisable and necessary to increase its CY 2014 budget by up to 3.5% over the previous year’s final appropriations, in the interest of promoting the
health, safety and welfare of the citizens; and
WHEREAS the Township Council hereby determines that a 3.5 % increase in the budget for said year, amounting to $ 359,846 in excess of the increase in final appropriations otherwise permitted by the Local Government Cap Law, is advisable and necessary; and,
WHEREAS the Township Council hereby determines that any amount authorized herein above that is not appropriated as part of the final budget shall be retained as an exception to final appropriation in either of the next two succeeding years

I think the posting about this site influencing town officials reviewing the joke that is the towns website is true. A couple times things discussed on here changed in quicktime and that is good since it shows they're paying attention. What I still don't get is why they don't look at other towns websites for some ideas. I could say the same thing for the new changes next door in Keyport and the recent business improvement district decisions that was in the paper a couple weeks ago. Back in town and a quick review of this blog site seems nothing much has changed. Same type of corruption exposing posts on here means the same crooks are in the municipal building. I will start paying more attention to things on here that may influence or result in having things improved or changed on the towns site. You have to figure the towns site should be reviewed and well thought out before items are updated or changes are made. Then again they are only going through the motions in most municipal operations and that is especially true here.

The guy who said I should have taken the test and became a police officer is right. Then i'd get to do very little in a town like this one. If I was really lucky I could slip and fall and retire tax free on disability and get a part time job for cash. So it reads like being honest is not a prerequisite to become a cop. Another snow storm for the town fathers to blame for the needless tax increase they'll enslave us with for fiscal year 2015. They lied about the real costs of hurricane sandy and raised our taxes. They lied about lower employee costs that the mayor and council said would be brought forth by attrition and retirements. We read of employment opportunities, questionable promotions and hirings. Big Aberdeen Patch article about potholes today. There's a really giant pothole just off Church Street in Kaufferdeen so big it's swallowing the towns finances and our towns future. We who keep an eye on the criminals on the town council call it the *Aberdeen Democratic Party pothole*. The only problem is when they fill this pothole it requires a very expensive engineering report like most everything the town council crooks must approve to keep the political party well funded. Far toil often it is our money spent corruptly on the connected and blank check approved engineering report that hides the illegal and unethical kickbacks to our corrupt politicians.

Just looked on Craigslist under towns for sale. I only found one town for sale. The listing said the town of Aberdeen New Jersey is for sale to the highest bidder. Note says to just contact any democrat politician in the town.

Really potholes can now be reported according to our towns website that is if you look really hard. Like was posted previously on this poorly managed website things are improperly posted, hidden or even not posted with an immediate listing when finally found that seems to often require scrolling down to the bottom of the listing before found?
Thank god that somebody in town hall is reading the Aberdeener to see what's wrong with the website or with of all things even down to potholes that those we employ cannot find on their own easy enough.
So a reported posting on here yesterday or so advised us that our neighbors in Marlboro have a easily reporting procedure for potholes. Do we not pay people to look out for and think of things to better our community? It looks like things for some time are not being handled efficiently within town offices or is it now management via the aberdeener blog.

Anyway here is the latest and of course unethical gem our town council miscreants are up to now.

it showed that there is a list/press release for Feb 12-18 = 7 days then the next one is for Feb 26-March 4 = 7 days.
Question is: Was there NO CRIME/ARRESTS in Aberdeen between Feb 13-25 since there is No list/press release
for these dates?

Deputy Mayor Montone stated she attended with the Mayor a meeting at the First Methodist Church. It is a community that is looking to open its doors to the community at large. They want to be more involved and open their facility to do things for the entire community. We could use their facility for seminars for the Senior Citizens. Their room holds 250 people.
