On March 4th, the residents of Freneau submitted a petition to the Aberdeen Town Council requesting sewers. Both Deputy Mayor Montone and Councilman Cannon assured the residents the town was working “very hard”. Councilman Cannon added, “We realize it is not fair that you are paying taxes and everyone gets their streets and sidewalks done and you get nothing.”
Deputy Montone twice assured the residents the council was making “progress”. How did she define “progress”? The council has made lots of plans.
Welcome to Neverland where the future is always bright and there’s a plan to solve every problem. Taxes too high? There’s a plan for a transit village and another plan for the redevelopment of Anchor Glass. Cost of housing too high? There’s a plan for a senior residence and low-income housing. Concerned about pay-to-play? The town council has a plan for that as well. Whatever problem you may have, rest assured the town council has a plan. Lots of plans. Wonderful plans. And if those plans don’t work, the town council will make new plans. Better plans. Plans that will amaze and astound.
Such is the beauty of living in Neverland where a majority of voters never grows up.

I thought townhall closes early on friday. I went by there on thursday and asked the girl what time it closes on friday because I had to get other papers for her. She said 430 but i thought they closed earlier.

Interesting comments about names on political mailing lists and phone calls lists.
Our theory is that there is so short of time for this information to notify residents that many people will not be able to attend due to other commitments and they will call the people who did register and inform them the session is canceled due to lack of response.
Of course, that way they can justify the spending of Sandy money and say they tried but residents were not interested.

I must say that I like when the council gets highlighted for their political corruption and total disregard for honest governance that is the the basis of the Aberdeen democratic party. Corrupterdeen is in fact the truth when you look around our town and look for even just one thing the democrats have done to benefit us residents and taxpayers after all of these years. A towns once a year celebration is solely politicized at every level merely formulated to allow the democrat council to walk around shaking hands and soliciting votes.
All of this trickery and deceit is just to hide the overly expensive engineer gifting projects, inflated road repair work and even now the latest proposed walkway replacements that our towns leadership is fraudulently blaming on a pair of natural disasters it seems. From recent posts on here I did some checking of the towns archives and it seems our towns politicians and management are in fact falsely and fraudulently blaming the need to replace two walkway spans over very small tributary streams on the hurricanes named Irene and Sandy.
This highly questionable reasoning for processing even one storm related application or maybe similar grant requests that may have been filed to cover the costs despite the damage and closures of the structures predating those hurricanes. Storms being blamed for the damage to our or any infrastructure locally would be a crime if it wasn't politically submitted or so it seems.
The other politically based crime on this subject is the proposed replacement costs being corruptly and no doubt criminally high to merely allow the connected engineers a very big profit. For instance my quick look around the internet finds prefabricated devices that could be used in such instances that are easily available and much more easily and less expensively installed. This would cost far less than half of the proposed $650k (+or-) from what I see. This gives much credence that this proposed project is all just another politically manipulated gift to the towns engineers. Those would be the same engineers of course who do in fact truly and illegally run our town and so easily and costly to us taxpayers and especially to residential business owners like me get hit twice.

The storm preparation night had about 80 attendees from the community. Most speeches or presentation were short and to the point. One man speaking on senior issues was informative but went on too long. I would suggest better directions to where at the school people could actually enter the building. My partner and I parked behind the school and couldn't find a door to get in until a woman from school services told us what door to use. It was not exactly front and center even once directed. Overall it was well presented and informative.

One of my neighbors sent us some town paperwork seeking to get a pool. How does this process work for them because I could really care less. The neighbors on the other side don't like the family wanting the pool since their son once dated the daughter of the family who wants the pool and the relationship didn't end well. I would appreciate any information on this process.
The pool must be close to property line or maybe they've got other items in the yard and they only allow so much in your yard. Make sure the fees are not crazy they want a lot for very little work on the towns part. I had to send neighbors letters years ago and go to a hearing.
Just another way to hassle town residents is all it is.

Marlboro bans political signs on public property.
Although several members of Marlboro’s Republican community came out in protest, claiming a violation of First Amendment rights, an ordinance was adopted that will prohibit the placement of political signs on public property in the municipality.
On July 17, the members of the Marlboro Township Council voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance. Under the terms of the ordinance, political signs will only be permitted to be placed on residential property with the consent of the property owner.
According to members of the council, the ordinance was not a political issue, but strictly an issue of litter and clutter.
Councilman Jeff Cantor described the clutter of signs in Marlboro as “pure garbage,” saying that it amounts to “a person taking a bunch of trash and dumping it on the side of the road.”

And we should know the average police officers retire after 25 years of work in small towns like ours.

Signs for the annual Aberdeen Day are going up around town lately. Does that mean the town will benefit by events over here in Cliffwood Beach this year? Last yer the fishing guy was here with prizes for the kids except everything else was across the other side. I herd the a and p might hold an event. The reason I ask is late last Friday afternoon at 4:04 in the afternoon you and your "so unseemly" town council criminal cohorts allowed a last minute "just before close of business hours" information release that is of a "highly questionable and with no doubt crookedly formulated" a bond ordinance to "gift even more of our hard earned tax dollars to the CME engineers from hell" for needless and overpriced engineering work for two walkways that hardly if ever get used or that were closed because of historic troubles, police responses, fights, congregating youth our town and more that our town does not need replaced. Ever look into how many people use the walkways to spend so many hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars? A couple people walking to religious services isn't a substantive or critical need.
