We Salute Our Veterans

Happy Birthday to my brother Marines on November 10, 2009 is extended to all who served in The United States Marine Corps.
Likewise I extend well wishes to all who served in all of our military services on this Veterans day. All who served whether in war or peace time deserve a thanks from a grateful nation that is allowed to be free due to the service and sacrifice of so few on behalf of so many.
November 11th. is a day to remember those who lost their lives in foreign places with equally forgotten names, as well as those who have paid the price of injuries to mind and spirit that too often linger long past the end of the fight.
I also pay homage to those who fight now as well as those who have lost their lives here on our own American soil. The fight is now against a new type of combatant who are almost home grown. This new terrorist type combatant with their extreme ideologies and forged hatred against our cherished freedom loving society, is unfortunately too often here living amongst us and must be watched and guarded against on a daily basis.
We should never let our guard down as our recent history shows all too well the results of that type of complacency and political correctness.
Remember all our comrades in arms.

Please accept my apologies as I failed to mention my sister Marines in my post this morning. It was my distinct pleasure to serve along side several women Marines in my four years of military service.
It seems like only yesterday my father put me on the train to go to boot camp. I distinctly remember two things of my first day in The Corps. I remember the initial fear I felt when I first saw the man in the Smokey the Bear hat when he climbed onto the bus and yelled "get on the fellow footprints". I still have the same feelings when I remember or come across that D.I. hat to this day.

What was meant by that veiled statement anonymous?
Veiled?? Looks pretty obvious to me.
Ignorance rules the day again. Now you have sunk so low as to defame a man who was proud of his service and shared his experience. then he immediately corrected his not mentioning women Marines. Quite a gentlemen I would say. So easy to attack from you anonymity is it not.
