At an open town meeting on December 16, 2014, the town
council told Mr. Rizkalla
- The township’s million dollar water project did not cause flooding in his house
- Had two experts visit his house who “cannot tell us anything the Township did is causing water in your basement”
- Will not release the reports of those “two experts”
- Offered Mr. Rizkalla $19,000 to go away
- That he’s welcome to get a lawyer and sue
The township is blocking disclosure of the engineer reports based upon the reports are protected “work product” prepared in anticipation of legal action. Fair enough. The reports probably are “work product.” However, in our country, the government works for us. Governmental institutions don’t enjoy the same rights to privacy as individuals. Freedom of Information Laws and the Open Public Records Act codify the public’s right to government records with certain exceptions.
Work product is a limited exception. As the town attorney surely
knows, on July 21, 2014, in Martin E. O’Boyle v. Borough of Longport, the
Supreme Court of New Jersey affirmed the public’s “common law right of access”.
The court further held as follows:
The attorney-client privilege shields the disclosure of documents otherwise accessible under OPRA . . . In order to determine whether the common law right of access applies to a particular set of records, a court must first determine whether the documents in question are public records. Second, the party seeking disclosure must show that he has an interest in the public record. If the record is privileged, the requestor must articulate a particularized need. Finally, once an interest is established, the burden shifts to the public entity to establish that its need for non-disclosure outweighs the plaintiff s need for disclosure. [Emphasis added]
The engineer’s reports are plainly public documents. Mr.
Rizkalla has a “particularized need” in knowing if the township turned his home
into a fish tank before he spends $100,000 to remediate the basement. Mr.
Cannon, an attorney and town council member speaking on behalf of the town
council, stated emphatically that the engineering reports do not show the
township has any liability.
If so, how can the public’s need for non-disclosure outweigh
Mr. Rizkalla’s need to know?
And that’s the crux of the matter. Mr. Rizkalla has the law
on his side but the township has taxpayer money. The council can spend hundreds
of thousands of taxpayer dollars on legal fees and stretch the court battle
over years. Mr. Rizkalla cannot.
Mr. Rizkalla is not a rich man. Mr. Rizkalla’s home is
flooded and likely has mold issues.
So the town council, acting on behalf of the public’s welfare,
offers Mr. Rizkalla some money and tells him to take it or sue.

The town patch site says he Aberdeen police answered 366 calls recently in six days. 294 of the calls were for car stopping and tickets given from those cars being stopped. So really if you take away the cars being stopped and drivers getting tickets the rest of the 144 hours of our 4.5m dollar a year cops who worked only means they did something 72 times in 144 hours. That's two calls every hour or there about except for the drivers stopping and tickets. getting Maybe they need to list the amount of gas used idling watching videos.

For over 10 thousand in taxes that my husband and I pay we get very little in reality while the politicians skim right from the cream that rises to the top.

Who are we paying way too much in town hall to not keep the town clean. I am serious and this is a reasonable request from a long time resident who has never complained since moving here in 1986. Someone needs to see an optometrist and drive around town with corrective glasses on and soon. My folks lived here until they passed on and they'd be shocked. Especially at the beach front area they loved to visit way back then.

Aberdeen Township Council at its reorganization meeting last year. A budget proposal introduced last week would raise municipal tax rates by 3.6 percent in the township.
ABERDEEN – Municipal taxes would rise by 3.6 percent under the proposed budget introduced at last week's meeting of the Aberdeen Township Council.
The $18.3 million spending proposal requires $430,340 more than last year from property owners in the township.
That necessitates a tax rate jump to $.517 per $100 of assessed value, up from $.499 in 2014, according to figures provided by township administrator Holly Reycraft. The average home in the township is valued at $270,000, meaning that a typical homeowner will pay $48.60 more in property tax than last year.

Reycraft said there is no change in public services or employment levels under the proposed budget, which will have a public hearing on June 4 at town hall.
Rising property taxes remains the norm in New Jersey, with other Shore communities reporting increases between 1 and 5 percent.

•The single biggest line item — police department salaries — was up 2.2 percent to $4.3 million.
•The new budget would create a surplus of $700,000, well above the $175,000 the township was able to save last year for emergencies.

With al the tax money I give this town you'd think they'd get someone on the towns payroll to cut the grass by me. In case anybody is reading this in town hall the house is at the corner of Lloyd and Church streets. You know right down the street from the municipal complex.
One of my neighbors house was burglarized recently and was not solved and he's so pissed off. I see him this morning on my way out of the driveway so I asked him how things are going with the insurance claim. He responded to me with something that puts it all in perspective especially for fans of this blog regarding our police force. He says that most towns police cars say protect and serve on them. He says that in our town the cars should have procrastination and self service. Don't get me wrong i've known him for a long time so these were not prying questions that bothered him in the least.
Aberdeen is advertising for bidders to install cameras in town somewhere. I say somewhere because we of the Aberdeen who justly distrust anything the D's do know with 100% certainty that such cameras will not be where they need to be. So where will they be?

In the courtroom where so much illegal, immoral and underhanded things occur during council meetings?
In the town managers office where all of the same as listed above is planned, approved or concocted to screw us taxpayers over and where they have the manager in a box only letting her out to front the indecision the council allows?

In the Zoning office where everybody gets screwed just because.
In the council meeting room where nothing is as it should be or is recorded properly.

I thought town hall had different hours in the summer time. I went by early this morning to ask a question about my grandson and the summer program on my way to work. New neighbor asked me where town hall is because he says he needs to go talk to the town people about putting up a fence. I said if you do that you'll be screwing yourself but good. I told him my own story of what that lady put me through years ago when I wanted a pool for the family. I told him they'll never see me in that building ever again to be asking this town for anything. I'm dying in my house so they can kiss my dead rotting ass before I get a permit here ever again.

So let's take a quick look at the article written again by Russ Zimmer. Zimmer who never delves too far into our local democrats on such stories or fluff pieces. Stories is all they are of our Democrats or as I love to call them Corruptocrats because they are truly corrupt in every sense of the word.
It lists the typical get a couple of votes from seniors by saying that the *Project* low income housing development will have a community center for *all seniors in Aberdeen. These of course are the same exact *seniors* the democrats have lied to for over 20 years now about such senior housing coming to our area to benefit them. You know like the transit area improvements, the marina park project over by the parkway, park property purchases that still no one knows where or who can use them and finally the old factory in Cliffwood that stands like a giant eyesore on our community while collapsing unto itself.
It lists RPM Development of Montclair as the driving force so we can conclude that they are *politically connected*.
We can also conclude they got big money from the state and feds to do this *project*.
The hilarious part of the article lists a time-line that Zimmer glosses over starting in 1994 with a fire, 1996 a *first phase* environmental study of the site under the Democrats cleaning up some toxic chemicals left behind by the South River Metals Company from their use of the site from 1908-1985. in 2002 the town designates the site to be used for senior *age restricted* housing soliciting proposals in 2002. In 2006 the property now in the hands of the Democrats is demolished ?2002? so 4 years passes and nothing and we know that is how the Democrats work by promising and never delivering over and over again. In 2009 the township gets yet another grant to study the property *the second or thirds study* once again the taxpayers nemesis of CME gets a big payday to once again study the area and nothing happens until 5 years later when the third in line developer *after other politically connected developers with a wife at least of Mayor Palmer in Trenton is on board fizzles due to we can only assume serious contamination that has stalled and will probably stall this *BIG HEADLINE FOR VOTES FROM SENIORS* Democratic proposal once again that will probably go nowhere.
oNe more little tid-bit is that RPM Development got Hurricane Sandy money and Zimmer writes that *The project funded in part by a federal superstorm Sandy disaster fund includes two twin, four story apartments that will cost a combined $44 million dollars. $44 million dollars for 145 senior apartment units and a community center when people are being ripped off by insurance companies and people are still homeless from the storm 2 and a half years after the storm? Building housing for people displaced by the storm are not in need of senior housing most often.
So if we know anything about headlines like this look for something to tart in a few years on this project just in time for another election season when the democrats need votes from seniors that they lie to like they change their clothes. Pulling in I have to go.

My wife and I walked through the property the town is allowing 200 apartments on soon. We did see the big tank with whatever that is leaking under it is still there and still leaking. Nice to see that our town manager and the elected officials that rushed the approvals through on this property for a political crony or cronies payoff down the road still have blinders on when it comes to contaminated properties in our community. That property, the sewer mess on 516 and the big factory across town that will be a nightmare to clean up. I'm sure that property will get all its approvals especially if it is a campaign year.

The last post I read on here mentions senior housing promised by the dems in town. Did that guy go through a black hole in space or a time warp? That's been the big dems lie for two decades. Much like my supposed tax savings the dems have been lying about for the same period. Face it the dems are liars plain and simple.

Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 is our Annual Fireworks display in honor of Independence Day at Fireman's Field. Fireworks begin at 8:30 p.m., but join us earlier for the Mayor's Trophy Softball Game which begins at 6:30 p.m.

Some politician is suggesting that Christie should resign from the Governorship if he runs for President of The United States. Typical democrat bullshit that will get them nowhere. Maybe if a republican gets in this time that idiot lowlife Corzine would be arrested, indicted, convicted and imprisoned for what he did that was highly illegal. Another Mayor Ass-wipe is improperly using the Core-Red system once again. Yes he knows no shame and will take every opportunity to get himself out there. I'm glad the weather is good so we don't have to hear the rain canceling messages from the asshole like last year. After all he's a democrat right Freddy boy?
That big dark window vehicle is a cops car probably. Most coppers have black window cars and trucks because they are different from us. They break the law by having the darkened windows and they are hipocrits for giving us regular people tickets for having dark windows on our cars.
I hear the code employee injured a leg so can't someone drive him around. I mean come on it's more than grass that should be looked at.
Local teenagers were arrested for setting fire to the footbridge that is behind the towns high school. Would that be the same footbridge that was closed off years ago for being vandalized by teenagers? At least we know CME the taxpayers nemesis and the personification of all that is politically evil in our town will of course get paid big money once again. Nice to see that somebody is getting work since I am working extra each week at my job to keep up with the taxes that just keep going up and up and up.
On our way to a long weekend in Ocean City in the morning and the best thing is when we head out of Aberdeen. The worst thing is when we come home and are back in Aberdeen with its messed up management and do nothing politicians. Hapy holidays to those we leave behind even if it's only for a few days.
This weekend we taxpayers get an extra day the corruptocrats can't touch our tax money and line the pockets if their corruptcronies. Right Freddy boy?

Towns surplus numbers drastically depleted to hide fiscal mismanagement for years
The hiring of a financial advisor on the QT to address and hide fiscal mismanagement
Why no employee ever gets let go for improper actions or on duty violations
The continual patronage hiring of family members for do nothing jobs
The improper family hirings that are possibly counter to town ordinances
Insider deals with big pay raises to the connected or well liked also being hidden from the public
Improper firings and deals to cover up big mistakes
Lack of anything close to workforce analysis for potential savings
Lack of anything close to police force statistics review for staffing requirements and officer output or cases solved
Lack of public or proper disclosure of any and all public meetings and the going on much less meeting schedules to attend
Lack of truly independent public representation on all approving boards and committees shaping this towns futures
Business group of better said Mayors buddies business group that is just a PAC
Review of questionable first Aid building deal in Cliffwood cause that stinks from the head all the way to the managers desk
Paying a family hire for media while also paying politically connected local media consulting group

Just caught a quick announcement about public works employees in jersey being arrested.
I hope it is this towns public works that finally got looked into.
It also mentioned stuff about construction debris being accepted improperly.
Can't wait to see the entire report on the news and just hope it's our town.
Smile really big I will say to the town council if they get on television and proclaim that they have no idea what is going on.
That would be the truth of course because our council has no idea what a mess our public works really is in lately.
