Four New Jersey men were charged with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on April 27, said a State Police spokesman.
At about 10:15 a.m., State Police stopped a BMW that was speeding on Route 78 in the area of milepost 6.6, said Sgt. Adam Grossman.
State Police approached the vehicle and could smell marijuana, Grossman said. Marijuana was found in the vehicle and the occupants were arrested and taken to the Perryville station, where they were charged with possession of marijuana.
James DeMatto, 30, of Freehold; William Mcguinn, 29, of Matawan; Gregory Cannon, 29, of Aberdeen; and Justin Deleo, 31, of Secaucus were all charged.

I am personally wondering what my taxes pay for. I have been in Town Hall a few times in the past few months and every time I walk in the girl who sits at the window is either just chatting it up with the boy who looks to young to even work there or she is flirting with another male employee. Let me guess there wasn't a business owner from Cliffwood to be selected fo the latest puppet for Tag-liar-weenie to mold into his do nothing way of leadership. It amazes me how they ignore our part of town until votes are needed then we get our basketball nets changed. Nothing but a holes in this town council.
Imagine that a town worker 4/4/16@5:22 is telling us how bad it is working under the dems like we don't know what living under them is no good either. The fact that they only identify themselves as town worker also lets us know they fear for their job security. I thank them for the small statement they put forth and that the town politicians are unconcerned is no surprise. The use of the word back biting is comforting since we of the aberdeener have long suspected that there are big problems in the building across town where as we also know nothing really gets accomplished at a big cost of our hard earned tax dollars.
I'm sure the town worker would like nothing more than to give much more details of the mess and can't. I am also sure they'd like to go to a competent authority to report the mess but can't for fear of being found out. Anyway I just thank them for a little look inside and I hope the backbiting stops for them and our employees including the politicians get back to work and benefit us.

Why do we taxpayers pay a connected to family media hire and a politically connected media firm to do the same thing. Progress in this town takes decades and millions that never makes sense unless you follow the money trail.

I'm at a business seminar kickoff and we all introduce ourselves in a big circle last night. I proudly say I'm from Cliffwood Beach New Jersey and a woman asks me if the sand is white or gray. I had to tell her it's mostly rocks. What was I supposed to lie to her and tell her our local politicians are working on improving the area. I don't like lying to people like our politicians do all the time.
If any of you think the senior center and transit property or our neighboring factory is going to benefit anyone you can forget it. Right Freddy boy?
New to the town and my husband and I came across this blog a couple of weeks ago. Since then I have been obsessed with many of the subjects along with the responses on said subjects. I am very shocked at what I have read on here and do so alone since my husband got turned off from what he read on here initially. When we started to look for a home here we looked for a location close to transportation and liked the town so much we dove right in.
After reading what I have these past several months I can only hope much of what has been on here is not true. Having moved here from Staten Island we know what high taxes are except that from what I have read our taxes seem to be very high with not much to show for it. My working from home and hours I'm on my computer for work allows me to start processes with down time that allows me to surf other sites and subjects. I have now come to enjoy reading the history of this site and I hate to say it I am addicted.
I am going to continue this political research and intend to attend a meeting with the mayor event in the near future. I will bring my tax bill and ask him to explain how a small ranch in the W section should pay over $9,000.00 in taxes per year. I will also want an explanation on the park in my area and how it needs more for the local children. I would like to thank the blog host for this site as it is to say the least enlightening.

When you continue to do the same thing over and over and over again, how on earth could anyone reasonably expect there to be different results? Aberdeen is not a lost cause, yet. However, unless things change for the better and we see some balancing of power on the Council, it could very well be dead. Truth be told, the town has been under the power and influence of the same group for entirely too long. I am not singing the praises of the Republicans either, however, if we just had one or two on the Council at least the other children would be forced to play nice in the sandbox. Did you ever wonder why all of the council votes are unanimous? No opposing votes. Period. If these fools had any brains, maybe they would permit one or two of their minions to vote against something. At least that would give the public the appearance of objectivity. Take a look at any well run town in the entire state. What do they have that sets them apart from a poorly governed town? The answer is simple - it is the quality of the elected people involved in the town. Ironically, I am not implying you need to have an advanced degree or even a superior education. You just need people focused on doing the right thing for those you govern. Drive around town and see where improvements are evident. I challenge you to do so. The results will be very disappointing. Yet, at the same time, taxes continue to go up and up. In an election year, the Magician somehow pulls a rabbit out of a hat and the proposed tax increase is lower than usual. We wind up with a horde or Walkers making their way into the voting booths returning the same people to office. Why can't we see improvements to the Beach? Route 35 continues to decay. Vacant space etc. Senior housing? We continue to receive assurances, yet, same old result. Clean streets, broken curbs and sidewalks, pothole filled roads (Church St between So. Atlantic and Lloyd Road), and the list goes on. Here is a suggestion - try calling the town about public works or recycling. Do not hold your breath waiting for a reply. We can do something about this. It requires people to get up off their ass and vote or engage. Otherwise, be prepared to accept the same results again.

Funny how something you can look at can seem so serene and harmless. Our municipal building looks like that to me right up until I remember the millions of dollars spent by democrats the past 20 years that accomplished so very little. What do you expect though from greedy self serving democrats.
Did you see the article on an Aberdeen family who have experienced the loss and pain of heroin. It was so touching and shows the struggle many families face over narcotics. What I wonder did our town do to help this family. I would expect that our local police responded to this home from some of the difficulties and abuse this family experienced and detailed in the paper. Perhaps our towns administrators should have been made aware of this families plight and reached out to help them. The family from what I could tell lived across town by 35 and should have been on someones radar. I am going to try and find out if this woman and her family still need help. If anyone knows anything please share.

Dropping off some televisions this week for recycling and I asked one of the town workers if this thing about the code officer being axed is true. He says that the town always does shit that makes no sense, his words not mine. I said I am sure you guys down here see all kinds of stuff. Then he says you cannot imagine and then asks do I want to see the new paving machine that probably won't ever get used. I said no I believe you. Right away he starts laughing and says that the machine was 300 grand. 300 grand I said in disbelief and he nodded his head and said yes over it was 300.
As soon as I got home I told my wife about the machine and she got really mad telling me I should go and ask the mayor about that machine at one of his meet with the public nights. More like lie to the public nights she said just now as I'm typing this. She hasn't liked him since our baseball years with the boys. A 300 grand machine not getting used really takes the cake she kept saying all day. I have no doubt it's true also as it was totally unsolicited and just came forth so easily. Never been to the beach area across town before so we took a ride over off the trail and past the marinas. The water views are exquisite and Keyport is so close you can almost touch it down one end of a street. We rode the whole area heading to the water and ended to a small bridge. Looks like a big birds nest is built on a tall pole platform near the swamp area as well. We would have to agree with other posts about the area since it is absolutely a very neglected area. That is doubly sad with all the taxes we pay.
One man who looked to be catching bait in a fish in a trap was quite entertaining telling us about the area. The one most telling thing the man said was that this area never changes for the better because all we get are promises and higher taxes. It was very obvious that this area of our town could and should be so much nicer than it is now and how it looks to have been for a very long time. Ivanhoe is still peddling the same bullshit that even he or she don't believe about the hard working democrats and especially our not so illustrious mayor. Know how I know? He admits that the democrats aren't doing enough when he signs off with requesting help to make Aberdeen better. The reason Aberdeen is in need of help is because of his democrats decades of failures to lead honestly. In the latest line of bullshit they point to the supposed development sprouting around town. Ivanhoe fails to recognize the decades of democrat failures because of the only democrat rule and their overwhelming greed and self serving interests that stopped any development beneficial or not which cost us taxpayers millions to the democrat cronies. I say millions because that is what it was it was millions wasted studying proposed development opportunities for decades with nothing to show but more studies.
There was the time years ago when Fat Tony Spalliero came to town and bought off the tag team of corruption of Coren and Kauff or Kauff and Coren and even he didn't build because the Kauff costs to build were too high. Those two had a simple corrupting and highly illegal premise of leadership. It was pay up or you don't get to play in their corrupt sandbox of political payoffs. While Fat Tony and others failed to build over here in Freneau was only because of the greed and mandated payoffs to get the Kauff only approvals to build. Once again pay or no play was the Kauff democrats edict that failed our town. Now we even have had a neighbor in our own area sitting in power on the council that has failed us over and over about the sewers that we've all desperately needed for years.
What you need to understand is that development means really big money. On the old factory by the train tracks and the parkway that profit is probably $100,000,000.00 when all is said and done so there is plenty of money to grease scurvy politicians whether they be democrats or republicans. Our two decade long captivity under the democrats has brought us nothing but promises and lies and little but millions paid to CME and other so called professionals to not develop anything on these tracts of land.
Ivanhoe and others in this town coupled with low voter turn out is the reason we are in the democrat mess for decades. When some on the council crow about the vote totals show that the democrats are doing a great job, that is a lie. It is social problem coupled of disinterest coupled with the overwhelming money the democrats are given, often illegally as Kauff failed to give just information on who donated what for years, that has us here wallowing in well hidden dire financial straits.
It is time to wake up and shout from the roof tops that we are mad as hell and won't take it anymore. I'm going to try myself even though I am four years away from retirement and moving to my other home permanently in Delaware. I've lived here a long time and I've seen them come and go but the past twenty years under the democrats has been like idling your car inside a garage where you fall asleep from the carbon exhaust. Our democrats are that carbon exhaust killing us all slowly.

Oh shit tomorrow starts another get nothing accomplished but big wasteful spending, cronyism and damaging to us taxpayers political patronage. In other words another week of the do nothing democrats Aberdeen style. Right Freddy boy?
