Four New Jersey men were charged with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on April 27, said a State Police spokesman.
At about 10:15 a.m., State Police stopped a BMW that was speeding on Route 78 in the area of milepost 6.6, said Sgt. Adam Grossman.
State Police approached the vehicle and could smell marijuana, Grossman said. Marijuana was found in the vehicle and the occupants were arrested and taken to the Perryville station, where they were charged with possession of marijuana.
James DeMatto, 30, of Freehold; William Mcguinn, 29, of Matawan; Gregory Cannon, 29, of Aberdeen; and Justin Deleo, 31, of Secaucus were all charged.

Nothing gets done in Aberdeen all you people say on here. Myself I'm with Ivanhoe to tell you the truth now that I think about some of his points. I mean come on it takes years and millions togged development underway. I don't like the fact that the often disclosed Shakedown under the lights of Norman Kauff that chased a developer away supposedly. That was wrong and should have been investigated properly when it happened and I fault the council members at that time for not demanding an investigation immediately. As for Ivanhoe suggesting that many of us get more involved to make our community better and nothing's wrong with that at all. I for one will try to get more involved as I can as I am retiring soon for good.
Now don't get me wrong our town has suffered greatly under the Democrats and they have spent millions with nothing to really show for it. Like others on here I don't think the very recent senior property starting to be cleaned up is prudent or worthwhile without knowing the money the town has spent in the past being tallied. I'm sure it is a very large cost borne by us who pay the bills with our taxes. I am also certain that the work was no doubt politicized in favor of the Democrats getting big contributions. Let us consider the progress that is being made and just know that politics will be involved and our officials will get their piece of the pie. Once we accept the fact that it is the way politics works and we are not on the good end or will ever benefit from politics or politicians. Once again I'll try to get more involved and ask you to consider my points.

Ruh ro Shaggy I hear another town lawyer got in a sticky wicket. It seems Mark Schramm who is the former Aberdeen PD *not a police department member thank god* he was the public defender in court in Aberdeen. I do hear Schramm actually did work for his money seems to have gotten in trouble on the Matawan-Aberdeen Patch.
It seems lawyers in Aberdeen have a nasty habit for getting in trouble with the police. I mean we have a sitting councilman and our current prosecutor, who had their recent cannabis clash up in north jersey with a statey. Anyway the statey arrested them for possession of marijuana in a smoke filled motor vehicle. According to my police source who reports a friend took the dive for them so they could keep their law licenses. Law licenses that they disgraced of course except it seems that breaking the laws that they both swore an oath to uphold to the best of their ability doesn't apply to them of course.
The article also says that Schramm entered a program and if he keeps his nose clean he will be alright. Another part of the article says he is under review for his law license though. Let's see lawyers judging lawyers conduct seems oxymoronic to me. I wonder if the councilman and prosecutor are under legal review also.

You gotta read the matawan patch today and read the article about the new community center over here. First off there's no way that the basement company was the low bidder without help from those in the know or whose wife works there I heard. I am ashamed at Aberdeen Township for its disrespect to our nation’s fallen heroes. For two of the last three years whoever is in charge of the Aberdeen Township Facebook page and Aberdeen Township Website have referred to Memorial Day as, and I quote, “This event is held at Town Hall every year to honor the memory of the deceased Firemen & Ladies Auxiliary in Aberdeen.”
Someone needs to give the administrator of both its website and Facebook page a history lesson.
Memorial Day is not about Firemen, Ladies Auxiliaries, nor Policemen; nor with veterans or those currently in the military. Its sole purpose is to honor those of our military who made the supreme sacrifice and died for our country, such as the three men in the attached photo who are from Cliffwood Beach, Aberdeen Township. “Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces”
Regarding these three brave heroes pictured, the Aberdeen Township Facebook page and Aberdeen Township website administrators might want to remember that the marine on right is LCpl Phillip Franks, the same fallen hero whom Aberdeen Township paid tribute to recently by naming a street after him and a small park memorial.
Yet he was ignored on the Aberdeen Township Facebook page this past Memorial Day, as was the other two men and the yearly VFW ceremony held in Cliffwood Beach.
This is a great insult to the parents and families of these brave men, such as the Kierce Family, the Sakofsky Family and the Frank family,
who the Mayor likes to get his picture taken with each year they attend the VFW ceremony.
Look at the Aberdeen Facebook Memorial Day album, tons of photos of firemen all taken at Township Hall, but not ONE taken at VFW. WHY? Or one paying respect to Fallen Military? WHY?
Seems everyone at the Township Ceremony... Mayor, Township Council, Firemen, Ladies Auxiliary ,etc… were at the VFW Ceremony,
so I’m sure the photographer of the Facebook album could have at least hopped a ride to take photos of the Cliffwood Beach ceremony or followed someone if they didn’t know where Cliffwood Beach and the VFW is located.
I have nothing against Firemen or Policemen or Ladies Auxiliaries,
but Memorial Day is really about our Fallen Military.
I would not have been so insulted had photos of the Township Ceremony at township hall been incorporated with photos of the VFW ceremony, BUT there were none of the VFW Ceremony, nor ANY photographic mention of our nation’s fallen or our local fallen heroes at Township Hall Ceremony , seems they were completely ignored, which is inexcusable.
I did mention this issue on the Aberdeen Township Facebook page not long after Memorial Day of last year, but I received no response.
I waited till now in hopes that the administrator could rectify this issue by getting photos from others, but that didn’t happen.
Sadly it seems by the Aberdeen Township Website, it will once again this year it will be about… “The township pays respect to the memory of the deceased Firemen and Ladies Auxiliary of Aberdeen Township.”, not the Men and Women of our Armed Forces. Which will now make it 3 out of the last 4 years.

Aberdeen Township - A flag is also placed at the memorial at town hall during the ceremony in honor of our veterans-usually by one of our long time residents who is a veteran and member of the VFW.
John Shea then why doesn't album description mention the ceremony also pays tribute to fallen military?

I hear that the towns leaders finally git start and are opening up a training ground for potential politicians. Great 1 thru 5 is the best thing I've ever read on here ever. Here is my truth on all of 1 thru 5 for you to consider.
Firstly town hall responses is either Mayor or Manager told to respond by the Mayor because it's all bullshit as usual to make everyone think they care or do something, anything or even one thing that benefits our community.
Here it goes for Great 1
1 Facebook is the end all for getting the political word out and who knows why.
2 It is all based on getting votes for the current democrats to continue to do nothing
3 They honor and kiss the asses for emergency personnel because they vote
4 John Shea criticizing them won't matter since it is over anyway
5 Photos from every year Shea mentions could easily be reused annually
6 Administrator of website is connected to insiders or family of politicians so no criticism there
7 As for disrespect this Memorial Day ceremony is purely a political event for votes
8 As for history lessons don't bother they don't care who they honor it's for votes only
9 Honoring those who died won't matter they don't vote
10 It is about providing food though at everything town holds to get faithful to attend

This website, annual ceremony and anything this town does is only done for votes. Once you accept that true fact you'll understand why our town has been, is and will always be ignored by the same do nothing democrats. It is all they know how to do. It is all they know and that is to make the voting public think they care, operate efficiently and spend our money effectively and honestly.

Whoever these guys are criticizing the town off of the GREAT posts above are in deep kimchee. Know why that is my fellow taxpayers and Aberdeen fans? No one can dare to criticize the media hire or the website Fred says she was hired to manage since that reflects bad on whoever pushed to get her that do nothing job that is paying her way too much money to do nothing. Do nothing seems to be the one constant in this town and these guys criticizing the do nothings now has them as marked men. I'd watch my back if I were them or better yet if they want their street paved or some new park equipment they'll do that for them if they shut up. I hear your town is going into business to try and make money to cover the giant hole in the budget that's been caused by the continual financial mismanagement. That is truly the only democrat accomplishment in your Aberdeen in two decades. Switching funds around to cover financial mismanagement is not the big secret it used to be in your town. Of course it started out as a secret when the water rates jumped up so they could pay for asphalt for the road program overruns. Then the engineers could cash out big time and kickback in corrupting campaign contributions. Of course you can all be sure there's far more that you've yet to hear about.
I also hear your town is going to open up its own head shop with official Town of Aberdeen seal emblazoned rolling papers, pipes, hookahs and water bongs that will all bear the towns official logo on them for sale to pot smokers like your illustrious Councilman Greg "Weedman" Cannon. I also hear they may start selling t-shirts like "It's 10:00 do you know where your pot smoking councilman is" and "Welcome to Aberdeen leave your wallet on the mayor's desk and leave". I'll take a Large tall one in white or grey myself to wear to Matawan Day of the wheelman shirt. After all I have to figure Cannon's brother should be in full campaign mode by Matawan Day and I'll wear it proudly that day.
If your town officials were really smart they'd start up a legal firm instructing regular people on how to get pulled over in a car while smoking pot and with the drug ecstasy in the car and get away with it. They could also give lessons on the illegal "quid pro quo" techniques to aid you in covering up your drug arrest. You see that is important training people on how to get away with such a crime while being a public official and a lawyer. Part 2 could also be titled "Being able to keep your councilman post by failing to disclose your drug arrest to your towns voters" as may have been required by the law. If your town fathers and mothers were really smart they'd also have Councilman Cannon give big money seminars on how to hide your drug arrest by hiring your coconspirator buddy to be the "Aberdeen's Prosecutor" because he didn't rat you out.
And many of you keep saying your democrats don't do anything that benefits your town? Look how hard they're working for you.

Cliffwood matters only to Cliffwood they're the most ignored area unless Mrs. Gumbs asks for something then watch out. I blame the areas elected officials who just sat silent and allowed my beach area to be ignored. Now there's supposed to be a plan for a water park. A waterpark really that needs the summer. Maybe they'll be smart for once and make ia waterpark where kids can skateboard. Now that makes sense and that's why it won't happen. We went to the town when our boys were young and asked for a skatepark. You can see we got nothing over here in the beach.
