The Debate that Never Happened

Republican mayoral candidate, Tom Aljian, has been seeking a debate with his democratic opponent, Fred Tagliarini. In all likelihood, Tagliarini will decline for the same reasons Aljian wants to debate. Tagliarini has far greater name recognition and deeper ties to the community than Aljian and a debate would raise Aljian’s profile. Tagliarini is also viewed as more qualified, given his long years of community service, his years on the planning board, and his present role as interim councilman; a debate would give Aljian the opportunity to demonstrate that he, too, is qualified.

However, the refusal to debate also betrays weakness. Unlike Aljian, Tagliarini has a record. As councilman, he supported the tax increase, supported the pension deferral, and supported taking “surplus” library funds. While on the planning board, he supported controversial development that fueled spending rather than provide tax relief. Lastly, Tagliarini, a lifelong Republican, chose to become a Democrat this year and thereby attach himself to all the scandals and unsavory individuals connected to the local Democratic Party.

Still, his personal relationships in town and reputation for integrity should help him make the argument – Don’t judge me by my friends. But will it be enough?

In 2005, Mayor Sobel narrowly won with 80 votes. In 2007, the Democrats won with an average 250-vote margin, notwithstanding that the Green Party candidates captured over 300 votes each.

Let’s assume the Green Party votes will split evenly among the two parties. Let’s also assume that the scandals, tax increases, coah and section 8 housing, unwanted development, and patronage games have disenfranchised a number of democratic supporters. In order to win, Tagliarini has only three options – 1) Increase democratic turnout 2) Attract republican voters 3) Discourage republican support. All three will be tough challenges.

I don’t believe Tagliarini will be able to outdo Councilman Vinci’s get-out-the-vote efforts. Especially not this year with Corzine trailing badly in the polls, Obama’s poll numbers dropping, and the simple fact that Tagliarini isn’t the political animal that Vinci is.

Regarding republican votes, the overwhelming majority of people who personally know Tagliarini will vote for him, including republicans. As for all the other republicans, not a chance. Tagliarini voted to raise taxes during a recession. There’s just no way to spin that.

Discouraging republican support may have been a possibility if there wasn’t a gubernatorial election. Republicans will turn out in the same numbers they did the last time, if not more.

There is one other possibility. Tagliarini could showcase his opponent’s shortcomings and characterize Aljian as unqualified for the mayoralty. But that would require a debate. Otherwise, Tagliarini’s only strategy is to hope the Republicans fail more than he does.

Why don't they just have the debate tomorrow at the high school during ABERDEEN DAY. If I were Tom Aljian I would hound the shit out of Tagliarini all day!!!

Understand this election has been planned. re-planned and over-planned. Puppetmaster Kauff knew how much money he needed to take from the taxpayers to then in turn get all the money he needed to fund this corrupt campaign. The history of corrupt Kauff campaigns these past twelve plus years needed something new. This Kauff and others knew would have to be far different then the likes of his previous corrupt elections. This one he needed new blood.

So Jimmy Lauro and Fred Tagliarini take one for the hometeam much to the shagrin of many who had a little respect for the two of them.

Now that they have drank the Kauff Kool-Aid they may not attain the votes that Kauff thought would come so easily. Time will tell.

As for the debate Kauff would NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN. We must send Kauff a strong message. Kauff-time is over so hit the road Normy!

KAUFFKNOWSWEKNOW said...

I find the title of this topic all too telling of the man purported to be Candidate Fred Taglairini. Let us all look at what we have heard about him to date.

I put this out there for all to consider since we have not seen one speck of the usual Democratic propaganda that is sent to our homes. I am left to think that they are perhaps waiting to bombard all of us just before the election when it is too late to ask any substantive questions.

What am I thinking? Candidates under Norman Kauff control do not answer any 'stinkin' questions. They expect and count on Vinci going out and glad handing everyone with his Kauff bought-and-paid for charm. That may have been all right in the past but things have changed. People are growing more weary of politicians even in Aberdeen and especially under Kauff.

So let me get back to Candidate Tagliarini's qualifications.

1 Republican served a short stint under the republican control many years ago.

2 Served on a Kauff controlled board and that needs no comment.

3 Ran the intramural baseball league locally for many years. Some criticism and praise on that.

4 Appointed to replace the 'pressure induced removal' of Councilwoman Jen Gallo when she started to ask questions about the millions gifted to CME our town engineering firm and the numero uno contributor to all things Kauff. CME total take since Kauff has been running the show $15M+ -.

5 Changes his political status of many many years to become a democrat to run for the mayoralty of Aberdeen. Even though we all know the town should be renamed
Kauffville due to the absolute and total control of every detail and dollar by a man of questionable talent, moral turpitude, honesty, accountability and who let us not all forget shook down a developer named BOB in the parking lot of town hall after a developer's meeting. But Mayoral candidate Tagliarini ignores all these well known and absolutely, 100%, if I'm lying I'm dying facts.

And he wants us to vote for him?

I and many others in Aberdeen are not that stupid. Kauff may think we are but Norman can pack the candidates list with all the local good ol' boys he wants. This year things are a little different on the local, state and national stage.

Finally on the subject of James Lauro my disgust with the man I thought I knew my disgust knows no bounds. I will address that at another time. Time to go. Give me a hard 8. GSP here we come.

Councilwoman Gallo Pushes Back

Be an informed voter!

Anonymous said...

Did anyone ever get an actual statement from J. Gallo confirming that she was pressured to leave? ...... I thought so.

PlumberDave said...

No Janice Gallo was not pressured to leave by Kauff, for questioning the CME bills.

No Stuart Brown was not pressured to leave for cutting off and questioning the continual and out of control funding to CME.

No Nick Minutolo was not forced off of the ticket by Kauff.

No CME and assorted professional low lifes did not get over $20,000.000.00 of our hard earned tax dollars since Kauff took over.

No CME is not the second largest contributor to democratic campaigns in the entire state.

No Mark Coren very good friend of most of the democratic leadership is not serving time as a guest of the FDOC for exposing himself to a male child under the age of 16 and for internet solicitation for sex of a minor child.

No the Zoning and Planning Boards are not beholding and controlled by Kauff completely allowing developmental approvals to be just this week put off of 1300+ - homes until after the election.

No Kauff did not pick our present "rapist" law firm and did not arrange for himself (Kauff) to be listed as "of counsel" which garners him a great percentage of all work they do, since he gave them his old job as town attorney.

No our town planners, accountants and other assorted so called professionals don't owe Kauff a thing.

No Kauff did not orchestrate this election and hand select the candidates and keep them from debating anyone or answering any assertions, facts or proofs listed here for the past two years. That if responded to would show Norman Kauff esq. to be the scumbag that he is.

No Aberdeen is not Disneyland but it is definitely a place where corrupt dreams do come true, and where good and honest men are running for council seats. Unfortunately to attain those seats of false "beholding to Kauff leadership" they have sold themselves to the devil of Aberdeen, for God knows what reason.

If you believe the above then all is right in the world. If you don't believe it get your asses out on election day and send Kauff a message. Tell everyone you know that after this election we will get Kauffed (F'd).

Kauff get the F out of Aberdeen!

I was reading some of the old minutes and came across this and found it interesting, it is from:
ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING
Tuesday, August 2008

Ken Aitken
65 Juniper Place
Mr. Aitken stated regarding Resolution No. 2008-90 which is on the agenda. I believe that was held for executive session.
Mayor Sobel stated yes, we will come out of executive session and take action on it.
Mr. Aitken stated he would like to offer his opinion on it that you have $650,000 worth of work to be done and not have a bid is just wrong and it should be bid.
Brian Pfeufer
243 Lennox Road
Mr. Pfeufer stated he agrees with Mr. Aitken. Mr. Pfeufer stated he doesn't understand why CME is getting all these jobs without any bids being put out.
Mayor Sobel stated each year we go through a process where we send out RFQ's, CME submitted a RFQ for Township Engineer. They are the most highly respected engineering firms in the State. It is bad judgment to have bottom line thinking as it applied to professional services. I mentioned during workshop, whether it is legal services, engineering or planning those are critical activities. If not done correctly places the Township at great risk. We dealt with other engineering firms in the place and we lived with the mistakes with this supposedly reputable firms and we had to go in and redo their work at a cost to the Township. What we receive from CME is free advise throughout the year. They attend conferences with developer's, planning, zoning board and council and not charge us. They are there at a drop of a hat with their advise and a lot of time with no costs to us. What they do charge us is also at a discounted rate. I figure, it is just my opinion, it is not sound judgment to put out professional services out to bid. They had their opportunity at the end of the previous calendar year to response to an RFQ. Firms did not respond, CME did.
Mr. Pfeufer stated the RFQ is put out last year.
Mayor Sobel stated it is an annual event.
Mr. Pfeufer stated this year CME was the only response.
Mayor Sobel stated right it has only been the last three years we have RFQs. Just because a firm comes in with a low bid doesn't mean they are going to do the best job. I don't know what is gained by putting it out to bid.
Mr Pfeufer stated saving money.
Mayor Sobel stated penny wise dollar foolish.
Mr. Pfeufer stated we don't know that because it is not put out to bid.
Mayor Sobel stated we lived with that before with mistakes made by other very large engineering firms where we had to go in and redo their work at a high cost to this municipality. As a member of this Council, I will not put our residents at risks for that. It is not good practice.
Mr. Pfeufer stated going out to bid should be looked into because it might be a savings. If you do like CME you can negotiate at that point to bring CME costs down.
Mayor Sobel stated they discounted their rates already.
Mr. Pfeufer stated we don't know what anyone's rates are.
Mayor Sobel stated yes we do. We know what other firms charge.
Ken Aitken
Mr. Aitken stated he agrees, if he was going to a doctor I might go to the doctor I want to go to because I am paying the bill. But in this case the Town is paying the bill and it is your responsibility to do some due diligence here and make sure we are getting the right money. It doesn't costs that much money to go out to bid. As a former School Board member we had to go out to bid on everything, including professional services, it had to be bid and that is what should be done. I just want it noted for the public record, this particular firm is a substantial contributor to the Aberdeen Democratic Committee. People need to know that.
Mayor Sobel stated this is not a political issue. I judge CME on the work they do.

WAKE UP ABERDEEN said...

Just to set the record straight.
Murphy was followed around by a man brought to the event by anti-republicans including Sami R., McCaleer, Davino and others at that time in our republican controlled arrogant town leadership. That and other events brought about our present mess and the taxpayer draining bills for professionals. Don't get me wrong Murphy deserved to be shown the same door as our present fools. Arrogance and politics corrupts. Power too long in place feels above criticism.

I was there on that day and watched the man bother and speak horribly about then Mayor Murphy. That demonstration against them worked along with the ever present criticizing letters by McCaleer to the papers about Murphy. And yet some of you wonder how he got his job for the town? That was a big part of it. I am certain we can acknowledge that fact.

For 2 years on here, we have seen anti-Dem and the anti- Dem leadership movement, so let us see when it comes time for voting and getting friends in town out to vote.

If the Dems win, then I see this whole thing as a big waste of time. I enjoy reading this blog, but if nothing gets done in this election, then what is all the whining about?

And WILL ANYONE go to a higher authority and ask about the CME controversy if the new mayor is status quo?

Candidate Fred Tagliarini did not keep his word????????????????????

Just the beginning of many un-truths we can all be sure.

He is after all Norman's boy now.

Bought and paid for we can be sure!

Could you expect any less from a man who gave trophies to kids who did not win. He used the excuse of "sportsmanship and fair play". What happened to honesty Fred?

Did you really expected him to keep his word to you about signs?

Candidate Tagliarini has now entered the dark troubling and costly world of "liars under the complete control of the Kauff money, influence and corruption". The ranks of those willing to sell themselves for the Kauff dollar are growing.

Let me address candidate Fred Tagliarini for a moment if I may.

Fred just a couple observations and a question or two for the "man of the people"

Mayoral candidate Fred Tagliarini is the entire hope of the democratic candidates in 2009 depending on the Italian American Club and it's membership?

While I respect all of our individual heritage and the organizations I was truly insulted by the placement of the Italian American Organization at the first table. Have they ever been at an Aberdeen celebration before, candidate Fred? I think not.

This was far too obvious upon my families entry into the Aberdeen Day event. That organizations table front and center right next to the "second up front table" of course being the Kauff controlled and corrupted Democrats. Fred this was too obvious and likewise insulting to me and mine.

You see candidate Fred, Kauff does not worry about insulting, buying, corrupting or using people. That is politics Aberdeen style. You have been used and sadly you seem to be all right with that fact.

Kauff also made sure the Republicans were way in the back this Aberdeen Day. Nice move Kauff. Just another low-life Kauff move, just like the sign placement agreement you let Fred make.

You see Kauff knew to let Fred hang in the wind on that one. Get used to it Fred. You are tied with Kauff and whatever spec of honesty or individual opinion you had or that you thought people had about you is gone. You sold your soul and are now one of the walking dead in the Kauff army. Repeat after Kauff.

"WHATEVER NORMAN KAUFF TELLS ME TO DO I WILL DO".

"HOWEVER NORMAN KAUFF TELLS ME TO VOTE I WILL VOTE".

"WHATEVER NORMAN KAUFF TELLS ME TO SAY I WILL SAY".

"THE TAXPAYERS MEAN NOTHING TO ME".

"I SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF NORMAN KAUFF".

"CME GETS ALL OF THE TAXPAYER MONEY THEY WANT".

"DAVE SAMUELS IS A GOOD AND HONEST MAN".

"DEVELOPMENT IS GOOD FOR ABERDEEN".

"I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE PARKING LOT SHAKEDOWN OF CONTRACTOR BOB".

Good luck Mr. Aljian! You have a month to ask the tough questions that you and yours should have repeatedly been asking for the past year. Tough questions can still work to your benefit. It is not too late. Don't let your effort be wasted. I would have more respect if you exposed them for the Kauff control and negative costs to the taxpayers during your campaign.

It is not too late. By the way Fred your handshake was a little weak.

While I am troubled a bit by the previous post it is not too far from the truth. The criminal enterprise in Aberdeen that goes by the name of Norman Kauff Incorporated is little more then a *pay to play* criminal enterprise.

Kauff Incorporated is no different then years ago when the likes of the Italian crime organizations originally named The Black hand, La Cosa Nostra or The Mafia. Then there was The Westies Irish Gang in Hells Kitchen and long before that there was Myer Lanskey's Jewish crime organization. The only thing that makes the Kauff Incorporated criminal organization any different is the sad fact that our politicians from all across this nation made their criminal enterprise legal. It is called political service.

The crimes of perpetrated by our politicians are of course committed upon those they are sworn to serve. In other words us, taxpayers.

Well you can tell it is an election year. It seems that even after the Kauff Zoning Board told RCM (Cifelli) that they were to have their plans revised and presented by Oct, 1 2009 they did not. So with an expensive Attorney and a hat in hand Cifelli now wants and NOT SO SURPRISINGLY were KAUFFgranted an extension until Dec, 31, 2009. Well isn't that special. Long after the election is over so that the candidates can say "we have nothing to do with that".

While that does nothing to settle the use of the property it does allow the Kauff candidates to not have to deal with the subject, except on election day. Kauff thinks Cliffwood is lost anyway.

Lost to the Democrats also will be Freneau, Santa Fe and other areas where we THE CITIZENS AGAINST KAUFF have been informing people of the CORRUPT COSTS OF KAUFF and the backroom dealings controlled by Kauff along with the money, secret developmental deals and the costs that will soon be associated with the hundreds of children coming out of these KAUFF APPROVED HOMES. The numbers of housing untis possibly to be approved just after the election go anywhere from 1000 to 1500 depending on the level of KAUFF GREED.

NOV, 3 2009 IT IS COMING MR.K. !

My compliments to Ms. McLeod and her group. GOOD WORK I say but you may have gotten or will definately get calls from your local realtor, I mean Ms. Gumbs or maybe even from one or more of the candidates.

Just remember what your outgoing Mayor David Sobel said when his neighbors complained about the height and medical dangers of cellular towers in the J Section of Strathmore" just put the cellular towers in Cliffwood then".

The areas of Cliffwood, Cliffwood Beach and Freneau will not have any representation either way this election ends. Well it seems we all need a bit of levity this morning from the give and take above.

However, if you decide to get back to more serious and costly issues try reading the Asbury Park Press yesterday and today. This will no doubt give you an insight into a major portion of the financial crush many municipalities are facing. Today's topic concerns Police services and salary costs for patrolman and others in the chain of command. The caption starts off with patrolman making an easy $80,000.00 +. It also exemplifies such salaries in comparison to Philadelphia Police Officers who work in the most dangerous city in the country who make far less then our local officers. It deserves a look I can assure you.

Now of course no one does not think we don't need police protection. But at what cost do we get such protection? Many costs and salaries may be far from reasonable, according to these articles. This may be a week of such analysis in the paper.

Check out this series and make your own decision. It may have been helpful if it gave each towns breakdown from the top salaries on down. Then we would be able to see the true costs of such services from the Chief of Police on down.

We the taxpayers need to pay attention to such close up analysis presented in such articles. Many of us have no idea of what such budgets and more truly mean. Quite often it is intentionally complicated and meant to not be easily understood.

Protect and Serve is the motto. We deserve to know at what cost it is provided. All services provided to taxpayers needs such disclosure.

Anonymous said...

Why is it that the police salaries are the first that everyone goes after? Read Tuesday's continuation of this APP series. Most of the $$$$$ goes to the schools districts. No one pushes toward fixing that problem.

Ultimately, both the rate of violations and the disciplinary actions would both decrease. But if disciplinary actions are up and violations down, what does that mean? Are less violations being counted as violence and criminal? Is there less reporting?

Curious as to the logic and meaning of your statement. Thank you.

Aberdeener said...

Anon,

If we eliminated all disciplinary actions, would the rate of violence and criminal activity go up or down?

By punishing lesser infractions, we keep students from gravitating to the more serious offenses, the broken windows theory.

At some point, disciplinary actions will drop as well but we're not there yet.

In the aberdeeners defense it is not his obligation to answer the publics questions about this coach. It is the superintendents responsiblility to put parents at ease with this situation and he has not done that. It is the board members duty to hold him accountable for the way he is handling this and his silence on this speaks volumes. After this, it would be hard for anyone to defend the superintendent on how well he keeps the public informed on an issue that should be very important to all, especially when many police officers live in town and know the truth. It is difficult to go against the all powerful and great oz and O'Malley has just become another victim. This was a big test for him and he failed us. This is why many wanted him to prove himself before the aberdeener and others gave him such a big raise.

I ask again where is Mcaleer with all of these signs all around town? Some of them you cannot see the intersections or cars approaching. I almost got hit coming off my bus on Lloyd Road on Monday. Did they put a leash on Mcaleer for the election season? Looks like it to me. Why isn't he stopping the political signs on the side of the road just like he did for my brothers companies signs?

Anonymous said...

Because he won't bite the hand that feeds. Besides, there are plenty of women, and old people to ticket at the commuter lot.

Anonymous said...

There are constitutional issues with the placement of political signs.

The Democrats talked about a proposal to regulate signs before the last election but their proposal would have had the effect of only limiting signs other than their own and they dropped the issue after the election.

This year they proposed the new pay-to-play ordinance which they then dropped because they needed to fund their campaign.

The weenies we have in power will do and say anything.

Don't pick on McAleer for doing his job. I ride around neighboring towns all day and the quantity of signs (non-political) on lawns and utility poles is disgusting. Aberdeen looks better because of McAleer.

And before anyone says it: I'm not Joe, not friend of Joe, not related to Joe. I'm just someone that wears a uniform and knows what it's like to enforce laws and to often feel unappreciated.

ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THE SIGNS! We get it, you're upset cause they have more signs, who cares?

PlumberDave said...

It is not because they have more signs. It is because their are so many

So many on their relatives lawns
So many on commercial properties.
So many on town employees lawns.
So many on town firefighter lawns.
So many on vacant town properties.
So many because they let Fred Lie.
So many because Kauff's desperate.
So many so they are confusing.
So many since we taxpayers paid CME
who in turn funds the corrupt
Kauff to ensure that just as
soon as the election is over
Kauff will approve 1500 homes.
So many so Kauff can retire.
So many to pay Vinnys taxes.
So many to keep Drapcin from :(
So many pressured or lied to.
So many who want favors done.
So many who don't know better.
So many that owe them.
So there!

It is not the signs that make the difference for me. It is that Fred Tag*LIAR*ini reneged on the deal he made with the republican candidate for mayor, Mr. Aljian. The agreement that neither side would put *ANY SIGNS UP UNTIL AFTER ABERDEEN DAY*. FRED LIED ! Anyone surprised?

So much for fair play and keeping your word FRED TAG*LIAR*INI. That is what we can expect from Kauff's *new bitch* FRED TAG*LIAR*INI.

The cars are parked in the lot right ?

Are women and old people sitting in the cars when he issues them summonses ?

Let us try this one on for size.

He issues tickets as that is part of his job. The people who are issued tickets can choose to go to court, defend themselves or write to the Mayor and Town Council and prove Joe did something wrong.

So

Got to court and appear before the magistrate !

Complain and show your proof to the Mayor and Town Council !

Or shut up !.

There is a reason Joe has that job and from talking to another employee who knows him it is just one of several that he does for the town. I intend to call him tomorrow and get a list of what he does each and every day.

When I read that post and saw that Tag did not keep his word by two weeks maybe more, my decision was made. He was not so honest with the league and favored a few at the cost of many who in fact worked hard and won their games. Yet those players watched others get favored because as Fred said 'they tried hard'. I for one hope he is given a trophy for only 'trying hard to win'. I hope he is given a trophy for his failed effort after he is not elected the Mayor of Aberdeen. A mans word is everything to me. pretty good questions that should be answered

Aberdeen Township Council 2009 Election - Qs for the Republicans

The Aberdeen Republicans are putting up the following candidates for Aberdeen Township Council in the November 2009 elections: Tom Aljian for Mayor and Anthony Garaguso, Sheilah Balavram, and Michael Vail. I picked up their brochures and business cards while I was at Aberdeen Day over the weekend. You should read their biographies, which can also be found on their website. The brochures are ads, so their positions are presented as bullet points and thus require clarification and elaboration. I've formulated some questions and will surely have more as time goes along. You may have others.

Your brochure says a Republican administration would bring residents into the township's long-range strategic capital planning process. Are you talking about bringing representatives from the community into the government's process or bringing the government's process to the public? I'm curious how you see this working, especially given the low attendance by the public at council and school board meetings here.
I was concerned about Township efforts to concentrate COAH housing on a section of County Road near Route 35. Your brochure suggests that you would focus on "honest and affordable housing," which sounds good but really doesn't make any sense. What would you do to resolve the state mandate to provide affordable housing in the Township?
Your development plans center on the old Anchor Glass plant and the train station, but you don't say what you want to accomplish or in what time frame. I've read that these train station development plans are stalled across the region and turning over the old glass plant seems an unlikely proposition in the current economic environment. Why do you think you can close these deals when the Dems have struggled with them? Do you have new ideas or do you think you are simply better qualified?
Your brochure puts holding the line on taxes as your highest priority. That worries a Democrat like me, who wants to be sure the town functions with both fiscal and humanitarian sensibilities. Convince me that you'd be a caring steward of the community and not just blindly seek ratables and cut costs to please homeowners and businesses.
What would you do to develop the greater Cliffwood Avenue/Route 35 intersection? I'm concerned about the old drug store, the vacant lot where Burlew's Pizzeria once stood, the empty storefronts on the south side of Rte 35, Moore's Bar, and the old palette warehouse. Will you add that as a development focus?
What are your thoughts on merging the Township with Matawan Borough? What do you see as the pros and cons of Gov Corzine's initiative? Would you support the program that is looking into regionalizing waste management?
Would you work with the Chamber of Commerce to make Aberdeen Day a more commercially successful event? What specific things would you do to help promote the Township beyond what is already being done?
You mention a senior center and Freneau as development issues. Could you provide more details?

Good luck Anon @ 5:27 pm...

No way Aljian and friends answer any of those questions with any substance because, simply put, they have no substance...

They'll just give you some "transparency in government" line and talk about "smart development." But, they'll be no actual ideas. At least there weren't when I talked to them at Aberdeen Day five days ago...

Tom Aljian said...

To the anonymous poster regarding the Republican stance on issues, I find your position preposterous. How can you possibly accuse us of having no position when THE PARTY IN POWER can not even muster a response to the Aberdeeners open questions.

Fred – Answer the Aberdeeners questions. Why did you raise our taxes again, Why did you vote to approve development to aid your party and not our town. The list goes on and on.

The Democrats are the ones with nothing and their lack of a position proves it beyond a doubt as does their failure to discuss and debate the issues facing our Town.

Fred - If you have a position on any issue, tell me and all of Aberdeen so we can talk about it and discuss the issues like adults.

SayNOJimmy said...

Fred cannot respond. You see that would be in direct contrast to the Kauff philosophy on politics.

That is simply and for all time will be;

1. Ignore the people as they are fickle. 2. They will forget the question they asked of us and that we never responded to. 3. They will forget their question and that we ignored them completely and their plight long before our next election.

That sadly is the truth of Kauff.

Ok hypothetical situation of course..

You are a board of education member. There is a member of your coaching staff, with a questionable at best personal history, but with exceptionalathletic abilities.

Still hypothetical here.

This coach has been arrested and charged with agg asslt on LEO in the past, but never convicted.

This coach has strong ties to some VERY unsavory charachters around town.

This coach has assaulted and threatened other coaches.

Still hypothetical here.

Do you, as a board member

A. Do what needs to be done to have this coach removed, and ensure that those who can comment do?

B. Leave him in because the hypothetical head coach wants him there?

C. Do nothing, and keep saying you can't comment?

Hypothetical situation of course.

Aberdeener,
Speaking of political agendas what is the districts policy on presenting political speeches during class time and teaching to praise politically elected officals of the government as has happened in other districts. This must have been discussed with the board leadership of Kenny and O'Connell being liberal democrats and O'Malley an elected Republican. Could this possibly happen in our district? Would like to know before and if this happens because it is sure to come up again and the district should have in place the way in which it wants to handle both scenarios.

They know they are all guilty of many crimes against those they know they are supposed to represent or that they want to represent. They can buy all of the signs they want. No post just an agreeing voter that Norman Kauff is the worst human being around. His mommy would be so proud. My little Normy grew up to be a thief, liar, morally and ethically corrupt and best of all it did not cost him dime. It cost all of the taxpayers of Aberdeen. I am so glad I live in Matawan. Not that we have any honest politicians. Look at Bud Mullaney for instance. Talk about dishonest politicians. By the way some rumors around lately as to who has an interest in Malloneys Pub. Mullaney---Malloney hmmmmm ?

Just a resident that thinks said...

Matawan is no better then Aberdeen. The only thing that Matawan does not have is that corrupt lowlife Norman Kauff. We have liars for politicians just like every other town in New Jersey. I have watched the posts about Kauff and all of the rest. Kauff needs to go. I feel bad for Jimmy and the rest but they have laid down with the dog and have been itching ever since. You have caught the fleas of corruption from Kauff. Do yourself a favor and take a good bath of honesty and rid yourself of the flea infestation that is Kauff.

Anonymous said...

Matawan shouldn't rest so easy. They have Kauff too. Who do you think funds Mullaney's party? Hazlet; those campaign signs look familiar. Kauff is a tumor on the local Democratic party organizations.

Matawan PD cannot even get the oil change done on the Police Cars. Some have been running for over 10,000 miles. Sure it is no big deal but if they will not spend money on an oil change they must realy be in grave financial shape. We should have been taken over long ago.

Parts of Matawan need to combine with Aberdeen. Start with the road departments, court, clerical staff, and first aid. Matawan has what 6 people in the road department? What is the sense? The court in Matawan is falling apart and its going to cost big bucks to prepare a new one. Clerical is just a given to me, and the first aid, neither town can get the first aid everytime you need them. Merge the two departments and hire a few full timers so you know that you will have someone 24 hours a day 7 days a week with no question. I hear that you can wait up to an hour for a first aid ambulance. Thank god the police from both towns have been known to drive the sick to the hospital. One thing I don't agree with is merging the Fire Department completely and the Police Department at all. It will make the forces to thin. Consolidate Matawan Fire Department and don't waste the $$$$$ on a ladder truck, share with Aberdeen. Let's go people work together. The school district already works together to steal our money.

Rumors are just that rumors. We understand Maloney's Pub is owned by Lupo, a Contractor who owns bldgs and works in Matawan. Let's not give anyone a reason not to frequent a Matawan business by attaching Mullaney's name to it. The rumor we heard is that Maloney is Mr. Lupo's wife's maiden name. Pls feel free to correct us if we are wrong. Maloney's Pub is quite a hit in Matawan and we are pleased to see a Main St Matawan business do well. It certainly is an improvement to Main St. Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Lupo.

Vic Scudieri finances Matawan politics. Check the Democratic candidates financials for Matawan over the last few years. Lest Matawan forget we lost the Motor Vehicle Dept to Airport Plaza a Vic Scudieri Enterprise while the Democrats, under the wing of Mullaney, controlled the Borough Council. Time will tell how long the memories of Matawan residents is on Election Day. The joke is the Dunkin Donuts lost alot of business with the DMV closing, yet they had a sign out for the Democrats. Let's see what happens this year as Mullaney runs for re-election. If they put out a sign, we have a t-shirt and sign for them. We'll have to get it from the Redneck Comedian, Jeff Foxworthy.

It's a Food Chain:

Kauff is Scudiery's weenie

The Dems in Matawan and Aberdeen (i.e. Tagliarini) are Kauff's weenies.

In Aberdeen the Zoniing Board and Planning Board are also Kauff branded weenies.

Matawan and Aberdeen had the opportunity to merge when the last chief retired. Matawan wants to merge with Aberdeen as much as they want to fully disclose the sad financial state they are in. To say they are hanging on by a thread would be generous. As for Mullaney and the rest it is one pure and simple fact. MATAWAN IS CORRUPT pure and simple. They let that C-Town die a slow death because the leadership of Matawan did not like who worked there and who owned it. Without such a store what do you think will bring people there? An irish pub and a seedy restaurant/bar with themed nights that gets kids in there with no one checking their ages. I would not let Mullaney in my house if it was on fire and he had the only hose in town. His close relationship with Don Vinny THE NUMBERS KING Vinci is another big mark against him.

Anyone surprised?

Dan McCarthy is the same person we have our problems with on County Road. Is there a trend? Is there a root cause? Is there a Kauff connection on both sides of that coin just like in Aberdeen?
Talk about hmmmmmmm?

Matawan has suffered from six figure deficits the two years the Democrats had the majority. Now we are in the recovery stages of that folly. Coupled with the economic conditions the entire Country is facing it is difficult at best. We take exception to the statement that Matawan is also corrupt. The Republican ticket is pushing for transparency and accountability. Something the Democrats have not provided to Matawan when they had the majority. The current Mayor has been pushing for transparency and conservative spending prior to the current Republican majority and continues to do so. His pleas for financial prudence feel on deaf ears during the Democratic majority years.

Mullaney threatening to sue the Borough over a "Pay to Play Ordinance" is just another one of his smoke screen self serving tactics. When has a sitting Council member threatened to sue the very people he represents? We found his antics questionable at best!

Please don't lump Matawan in with Aberdeen when it comes to corruption. We have sat at Borough Council meetings and listened to the Mayor reveal antics of certain members in order to keep the public informed and avoid any hint of inappropriate actions. That is why we believe Matawan needs a Borough Council that will work together to improve Matawan and not waste time with political, self serving agendas.

We have come out for the Lopez-Angelini ticket as we believe it is the best direction for Matawan.

Obviously those of who talk about real issues and substantive realities as to the real costs of political corruption must put up with idiots like anonymous above. We should take pride that they ignore the issues. That they ignore the corruption. That they ignore the very positive affects such sights like this will have on election day.

Some would say what if the corruption of the past 12 years maintains control. Then all I can and will say is that the voters deserve what they get. If they are not informed and are easily fooled by the Vinci election season charm or by Fred being a coach for many years or by Lauro being a mainstay in town then the popularity contest that Kauff planned worked.

When the the 1500 houses, apartments or condos get approved and the schools get filled to capacity then the popularity contest will have to answer for all of that. Don't look for them to be too accountable and their handlers will be long gone.

That is politics NJ style. Too bad!

THEN VOTE FOR KAUFFS GROUP ALL YOU SO DISTURBED BY MYSELF, PLUMBER DAVE, EDTED SO THAT KAUFF CAN CONTINUE THE CHARADE THAT HAS BEEN THE THUG LEADERSHIP THAT FEEDS THEIR "CLOSE PERSONAL FRIENDS" AT OUR EXPENSE.

SURE WE ARE VINDICTIVE, ANGRY AND MORE AND WE DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT YOU THINK. JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE KAUFF HAS PUT INTO OFFICE AND SEEKS TO PUT INTO OFFICE TO MAINTAIN HIS CORRUPT CONTROL.

WE ARE THE EXACT SAME TYPE OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN THE ABERDEEN TOWN COUNCIL OVER THE PAST TWELVE YEARS. THOSE ELECTED OFFICIALS WHO IGNORE YOU AND SPEND MILLIONS OF YOUR AND YOUR FELLOW TAXPAYERS HARD EARNED MONEY ON CME AND ALL OF THE OTHER KAUFF CONNECTED PROFESSIONALS, WHO DO NOT HAVE TO BID FOR THEIR SERVICES THEY QUESTIONABLY PROVIDE TO THE TOWN.

KAUFF KEEPS THEM AROUND LIKE PETS REWARDING THEM AT EVERY TURN WITH YOUR AND OUR MONEY.

BUT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THOSE OF US WHO EXPOSE THEIR CORRUPTION, NO BID CONTRACTS, IMPROPER WORK, ILLEGAL, UNETHICAL AND IMMORAL GOVERNING AND DO SO WITH ANGER AND AN INTENT TO EMBARRASS THEM AT EVERY TURN. TOO BAD.

YET YOU DON'T BELIEVE THAT AS SOON AS THEY ELECTION IS OVER THAT KAUFF WILL ALLOW 1300+ HOMES TO BE BUILT TO OVERCROWD OUR SCHOOLS, ROADS AND EMERGENCY SERVICES AND PUT OUR TAXES THROUGH THE ROOF.

GO AHEAD THEN STUPID AND VOTE THE KAUFF GROUP INTO OFFICE ONCE AGAIN. THEN YOU CAN JUST SHUT UP. BUT REMEMBER THIS POST AND THE OTHERS THAT HAVE HIGHLIGHTED, RIDICULED AND BROUGHT ATTENTION ON THEIR CORRUPT ACTS AND THEIR VERY REAL COSTS.

JUST REMEMBER WHEN ALL WE HAVE WARNED YOU ABOUT HAPPENS YOU CAN THEN TAKE OUT YOUR TAX BILL AND ADD A ZERO AT THE END. THAT IS WHAT A KAUFF WIN WILL DO FOR YOU.

I POST THIS AS A RESPONSE TO THE SUPPOSED INNOCENTS WHO CRITICIZE ALL OF US WHO CARE ABOUT THE REST OF YOU WHO MAY ONCE AGAIN BUY INTO THE CORRUPT KAUFF LIES AND FINGER POINTING.

WHAT DON'T YOU GET? IS IT THE $20,000,000.. KAUFF HAS GIVEN TO HIS CLOSE PERSONAL FRIENDS SINCE THEY TOOK OVER. IS IT THE DAMAGE OF WHAT 1300+ HOMES WILL DO TO OUR ALREADY OVERBURDENED AND OVERTAXED INFRASTRUCTURE? IS IT THE FACT THAT WITH ALL THAT HAS BEEN PUT ON HERE NOT ONE OF THEM HAS STEPPED FORWARD TO DENY ANY OF IT. THEY CAN'T SINCE THEY KNOW IT IS ALL TRUE.

ALL ABOARD YOUR! MAGIC BUS IS READY TO TAKE YOU TO DISNEY WORLD. IT JUST HAS SMALL MINDED PEOPLE WHO DEFEND THE CORRUPT AND KAUFF USES THE ABERDEEN TAXPAYERS AS HIS DUMBO RIDE.

Once again the idiotic assertion that somehow tickets are only given to women and the elderly.

It sounds like this person went in had a good time stayed over and then came back to a ticket. I used to park there and spots must be paid for all day until 4:30. The lot is owned and regulated by New jersey Transit. Tickets are a local thing with our town keeping that in check.

As to the assertion that old people and women are somehow ticketed more often is very stupid. No proof of that has been given even once. Just one post and the same thing said with no proof.

Christy put me over the top just with his record of putting political scum where they belong, IN PRISON!
If the Kauff crew win I will visit the Governors office myself and tell him everything I know. I'll start with the developer and Kauff in the parking lot coupled with bringing ethics charges against every sitting council member who was told officially by Mr. Brown and did nothing with that information. Yeah Norman people outside of town hall know who was told and who should have passed that info on to the authorities according to the ethics rules. Right Mayor Dave? Right Wilemina, Tom, Ownen, Joe, Vinny and Nick.

I'm currently sitting in my air conditioned office with my "over-priced and unnecessary" degrees on the wall making twice as much as money as the average American. Why? Because of my education...

Next time you come over my house to snake my toilet, you can tell me about all the books you read and how your "gut instinct" is treating you...

I am an Italo-American and I am not offended by Karen. I have to agree that most of the signs are on "connected" lawns of people I know who are in fact Italian. I also agree that Kauff is corrupt and anyone who is attached to him of any nationality are not Italian, Irish or any other ethnicity. They would just be corrupt for being associated with Kauff. I believe the parking lot shakedown thing happened and I believe it for one and only one reason.

"We live in New Jersey and every politician is corrupt".

Christy is not Corzine and that is all I need to know. The Republicans have not run Aberdeen for the past 10 years or so and are not corrupted by Kauff. That is also all I need to know to cast my vote for them. I think many people in Aberdeen will do the same as me. If only because we cannot afford the corruption forced upon us by politicians and their bosses. I also think that many of those who have signs on their lawns will not vote for those who put the signs on their lawns only allowing them to do so for questionable reasons. They too have had enough and will either not vote or vote for change.

We shall see very soon.
