I Do Hereby Proclaim

In contrast to Matawan’s professional and understated resolution, Aberdeen Township chose to attack the school board and the administration. I don’t know of a single other instance when one local governing body unanimously voted to denigrate another governing body. The fact that Aberdeen’s resolution is full of distortions and factual errors just aggravates an already egregious breach in protocol.

In response, I issued my own “proclamation” at Monday night’s school board meeting. Below is the text, in full.

Whereas Aberdeen’s Town Council has unanimously approved Resolution 2010-83 certifying Matawan-Aberdeen’s Regional School District’s budget

Whereas said resolution contains many clauses attacking this school board and our administration

Whereas said resolution purposely distorts the facts and our record

Whereas said resolution intentionally avoids mentioning a single accomplishment, academically or financially, of this school district under Dr. O’Malley’s administration

Whereas said resolution violates confidentiality by disclosing private conversations between representatives of the school board and the town council

Whereas the town council breached protocol by publicizing the resolution without first notifying the superintendent of the proposed budget

Whereas the town council, in violation of the sunshine laws, failed to give the public adequate notice of the budget vote

Whereas the town council, in violation of the sunshine laws, has never given the public adequate notice of the school budget vote for over half a decade, at least

Whereas the town council rejected a proposed school tax increase of $280,000 for Aberdeen Township but has submitted a preliminary budget calling for a municipal tax increase of $2,000,000

Whereas, over the last three years, the school district has raised taxes less than 2% compared to the town council’s projected three-year increase of more than 30%

Whereas Aberdeen Township has the fifth highest property taxes in Monmouth County due to the town council’s inability to attract commercial development

Whereas the town council, in violation of the sunshine laws, secretly authorized a Memorandum of Understanding with a local developer for the construction of 194 new residential units

Whereas the town council is using a Payment in Lieu of Taxes program to divert over $400,000 a year from the school district toward the municipal budget

Whereas the town council is obscenely compromised by pay-to-play

Whereas Aberdeen Township pays the town council’s largest political donor over $1.2 million a year for professional services

Whereas the town council only awards professional services to campaign contributors and the politically connected

Whereas town council members raised $40,000 during the most recent general election but didn’t disclose a single contributor

Whereas the town council retains one attorney who misrepresented crucial facts during a public meeting and another attorney who threatened residents, including members of this school board, with police action

Whereas town council members pay themselves tens of thousands of dollars a year in salaries while school board members work for free

Whereas Resolution 2010-83 leaves the ludicrous impression that the town council is better qualified to manage the school district than the board of education

We, the undersigned, award the Town Council of Aberdeen Township the Lifetime Chutzpah Award and hereby present to you the ceremonial boot.

--Since no one is here from the town council to accept the ceremonial boot, I am ashamed to accept it on their behalf.--

P.S. The above remarks have not been endorsed by Ms. Jan Rubino.

Jan Rubino would not authorize anything put forth by any member of the school board unless it paid her off in some way or contributed illegally, unethically and improperly to her campaign. That is her corrupt way of doing things. Right Jan?

As for the proclomation Joey I commend you and think you need to send it to every newspaper, letter to the editor section editor, the State of New Jersey Ethics Board, Monmouth County Prosecutor Valentin, The State Attorney of New Jersey and the Governor himself. The other places could include Bob Ingle and every Editorial Director of every newspaper in the sate. Also send it to the guy who did the documentary entitled THE CARTEL.

You have outdone yourself even if the Kauff denial teams are zeroing in to deflect, deny and blame everyone else but themselves. This is what we can expect from them soon. Anything that is except the truth of course. Kauff can't handle the truth!

Mr. warren maybe you could get on the Ask the Governor segment on NJ101.5 tommorow night from 7 to 8? The Governor also takes e-mail questions. I sent one in today myslef. It was not so much a questions as it was an begging for mercy. It went like this.

The town council did what the taxpayers wanted and little Joey doesn't like it. Too bad. Stop giving ridiculous raises, stop hiring administrators at ridiculous starting salaries, and get rid of more administrators. Instead because O'Malley, Chuckie and you didn't get your way, you turn a board meeting into your personal playground. Did the rest of the board besides Rubino endorse this? Since you singled her out it, that must mean all the others agreed with this childish banter. While many may agree with what you had to say your temper tantrum solves nothing. It only creates animosity in difficult times. The taxpayers have spoken and the elitist attitude must stop. If you leave the Whereas out the message is, no more raises, no new administrative hires at high salaries, and less administration.

Aberdeener said...

You think I'm upset by the additional 150K in cuts? Can't wait for the video of the meeting to come out so you can hear what's being cut.

Anonymous said...

Why do we have to wait for the video? What is being cut? Did you take the town councils advice?

Aberdeener said...

The council recommended we cut another administrative position. We haven't done that.

Anonymous said...

Why cut another admin position when you can cut kids programs. Give all the money to the teachers and admin personnel and don't woory about the kids. And here I thought the vote for the budget was " for the kids".

Anonymous said...

So what are saying Joey? You're not going to cut another position and say F Y to the council? Oh, wait, you already said F Y to council and the taxpayers by voting for large raises for the administrators.

Why the secrecy?

What is being cut to make up the additional lost tax dollars?

Rubino for Town Council? said...

It seems that Norman F THE COMMUNITY Kauff has found his next council candidate. ELECT JAN RUBINO 2011 is possibly underway as I am typing. I called the DOE offices in Trenton and was told that a decision is soon to be made on Ms. Rubino's ETHICS CHARGES. So we can all be sure that as soon as that GUILTY AS CHARGED decision comes down you can be sure that TEAM KAUFF will be first in line to woo Ms. Jan Rubino to join their corrupt band of CME thieves. You see you have to be corrupt to be on TEAM KAUFF. It is a natural progression. Right Greggy Poo?

Corruption is job 1 on Team Kauff.

Right Norm?
Right Vinny?
Right Ms. Gumbs?
Right Owen?
Right Fred?
Right Margeret?
Right Jimmy?
Right Greggy?

Maybe she can take Ms. Gumbs's place since the demographics have changed so drastically in Cliffwood. A new Corruption Queen out of the beach area may be the new political playground for Team Kauff to venture into and exploit? You know Kauff is always on the look out for new exploits.

My bad I meant places to exploit.

Guess you've learned since the embarrassing crickets could be heard the last time around. Now, you just make your own "proclamations." Hahahaha...

Did you and former-loser-BOE-member Ken Aitken write the "proclamation" together over a Chai latte?

Hey 2:17 BLOW ME

Anonymous said...

Joey,
Why the childish games? The superintendent recommended to the councils that $421.970.00 be cut from specific line items (page 4 in schedule A). They added another $150,000.00 for abuses or a reduction in administrative salaries. If O'Malley made recommendations in seven line items that could be cut and did not cut those areas he specified, his credibility should be questioned. A simple question for one of our board of education members, what line items did you cut $571,970.00 from?

Anonymous said...

"The demographics have changed drastically in Cliffwood". Really? When? Last time I looked everybody looked like an AMERICAN to me. Tell me, 11:32 AM - what do you see?

Childish Games? said...

The Council knows how to pay-to-play its games! They really have nerve criticizing another elected body when they are the ones with an out of control budget and a whopper tax increase and they personally accept salaries.

Tag and his cronies are hypocrites.

Aberdeener said...

Anon 2:56,

As the town resolution states, the town council demanded $150,000 in cuts on top of what the district proposed. The line items were taken from the district's proposals (although the account numbers are wrong). The only question is where the additional 150K will be cut.

Anonymous said...

Well, we all know where it won't be coming from don't we Joe?

Aberdeener said...

The video is up. Here's the quote from Mr. Kenny regarding the $150,000 cut - "There is now, as a result of Mr. Cannon’s resolution, less money that the district has to bargain with in reaching an agreement regarding the teachers’ future salaries."

Anonymous said...

Don't you worry Omalley, there will always be enough left over for you to get raises, Joey will see to that, no matter who he has to fire to cover it, right Joey?

Well it seems that Joey has hit a RAW NERVE on some of our blogging council people. Fact.

Some of the responses are sent from the Kauff controlled
(purposeful cough to clear my vote for the next word i'll use in jest) council leaders.

The most recent responses scream council people who have been the subject lately for their sunshine violations, illegal meeting procedures, gouging fees by KAUFFCME.

Yes KAUFFCME it is now just one word just like scumbags from now on. There also have been a couple posts that could be Jan Rubino striking back from her broom since she can alienate herself very well from her fellow board members.

By the way the suggestion that she could be the next KAUFFOUNCIL puppet was brilliant. One also is obvious from Drapwig (2:22)as well. As if that plumbing still worked?

Joey,
Kenney says that some parts of the township resolution are inaccurate and factually flawed, then didn't elaborate as usual. How so is it factually flawed?
Then he proceeded to say he wants open dialogue and professionalism with the mayors. After allowing and agreeing with your rant he was not sincere and the mayors should not trust him.
You are also a liar or are intentionally being deceptive. O'Malley answered a direct question on what was being cut and his response was all cuts, the whole amount, was in the 100's of the salaries (whatever that means). From Kenneys wise remarks one could assume teachers salaries, not what was recommended in the township resolution. If O'Malley recommended cuts in specific line items that would have affected the district the least in his negotiations with the town, why then didn't he cut in those areas.

Anonymous said...

Again, what line items did the board of education cut to reduce the budget $571,970.00?

Aberdeener said...

Everything in the resolution excluding the additional 150K.

Anonymous said...

O'Malley said something completely different from what you are saying. Who is correct? O'Malley said All cuts are in the salary accounts, the 100 accounts. A direct question of "all the cuts?" O'Malley answered yes. It was on the video you were so anxious for us to see.

Aberdeener said...

2Ya,

There's a world of difference between me commenting as a private citizen and a local governing body unanimously voting to slam another local governing body within the same district.

Can anybody cite a similar example from anywhere in this country at any point in time?

Anonymous said...

How can O'Malley ask our towns to pay an increase in budget when he wants the school district in his own town to cut $1.5M?

Flemington/Raritan is similar to MARSD in they share a school district and their total budget is close to ours.

And, they voted no to the proposed tax levy increase.

I Voted for the School Budget said...

I voted yes because for the last two years the School Board redirected its attention back to student performance and classroom learning. O'Malley's team has eliminated the fat that the previous administration hid in the budget so that they could cut it after the budget got voted down.

I am dismayed that unlike Matawan, the Aberdeen Council chose to make a misdirected political statement instead of affirming the township's support of public education. Tag's council comes off like a bunch of idiot teabagging sychophants.

Tag - sent his kid to private school
Cannon - no kids, just a blowhard
Vinci - too old to think about kids
Lauro - just follows the crowd
Gumbs - as long as her family gets theirs she's ok
Montone - just bitter because of custodian privatization (a responsible way to save a couple million dollars)
Drapkin - probably abstained, but he already got his daughter a job

This should not be about making political statements. It's amazing that a mayor and council that is going to hit us with the biggest municipal tax increase in recent memory, and who votes to pay themselves, has the nerve.

Anyone hear that the Hebrew School by me wants a big expansion and major increase in numbers. My neighbor came by last night and told me that is what she has been told. Is this coming our way. This was a care center and now it seems they want to double the size of students in a school that should not have been allowed. How can this be in America. This was a nursing home for years now a school. The whole thing smells fishy. With all I have read about our politicians nothing seems to be legitimate. Just typical I guess. Just put it in Cliffwood my eye.

That is the same type of crap that has Mr. K. and company coming to my County Road and selling us lies about supposed or mandated N.J. affordable housing requirements. Requirement that will be shoved down our throats by lies from Mr. K.'s handpicked mouthpiece. This as we have seen reported here over and over again. They are lying to us everyday when most every community is seeing what happens in Trenton with the housing rule changes before allowing big builds like Mr. K. wnats to cash in on. As for the hebrew school does anyone think a Mosque or school attached to Islam would have been allowed in that building. How about an alternative school for minority youth. How about an all girl school or better yet a school for recovering addicts. I agree the just put it in Cliffwood thing happens too much and always involves lies to us from those that pay their salaries. Enough is enough. Enough lies that is.

Hey Joey I haev a question for you. The 1.5% that Christie has the teachers paying for health care . is that going back to the district? If so then the BOE would have about an extra $450,000 in their budget that was not counted on. Since O'Malley already budgeted100% . What are you going to do with it and why would that not be used for the extra $150,000 that the 2 towns asked for. Next question, why was $1,200,000 dollars in stimulas money used last year to have a zero increase instead of being used for education of the children. If it was used just so their would be no tax increase, O'Malley and the Board may have to answer to the feds.

THE SAD TRUTH said...

Ya know, Joey… I started out trying to make the point that you’re a partisan hack. That all of your blog postings that blast the Aberdeen Democrats are fueled by your Aberdeen Republican friends: Ken Aitken, John Gartley, and Tom Aljian. In doing so, I stumbled upon the fact that Hunterdon County Republican and MARSD Superintendent Dr. Dick used his neighbor, Tom Hopkins, to mail both his school budget literature and the campaign literature of your friend and Republican Boardmember, Jeff Delaney. In and of itself, this fact isn’t shocking, but Dr. Delaney has still yet to file a single campaign finance report explaining how he paid for a Township-wide election mailing. Suspicion is abound to say the least. However, given the complete lack of reports, I haven’t been able to prove Dr. Dick paid for Delaney’s campaign, and thus, my ethics complaint has unfortunately stalled at the Dept. of Education’s doorstep. The conundrum of self-reporting I guess…

Regardless, given the foregoing, and the fact that you and Delaney have been leading the charge on Dr. Dick's massive pay increase last year, and his contract extension this year, it hardly seems a stretch that Dr. Dick overstepped some boundaries in helping Delaney. Indeed, it hardly seemed a stretch to former Boardmember O’Connell that Dr. Dick may be involved in some backroom politicking using his position as Superintendent. In fact, O’Connell was so concerned, that he suggested Dr. Dick should disclose his political contributors to the MARSD. Curiously, O’Connell’s suggestion was vehemently opposed by Joey. This caught my attention even further as to your Republican partisan shenanigans.

THE SAD TRUTH said...

And while in the past, I may have used some over-the-top rhetoric in my anger and frustration at the clear politicization and Republican control of the school board. I am now simply stupified beyond belief. Reviewing the comments section of the Asbury Park Press article about the ridiculous hiring of a 22nd administrator in the MARSD, I found a link to this picture. From left to right are: 1) New MARSD Administrator, Tyler Blackmore; 2) Republican Assemblyman Dave Rible; 3) Republican Assembywoman Mary Pat Angelini; and 4) Athletic Director, Ron Strandridge. You read that correctly, the new MARSD administrator and former Asbury Park H.S. principal, Tyler Blackmore, was specifically honored by two Assembly Republicans at the statehouse. It must be just another GOP coincidence for Joey and Dr. Dick…

But really, why aren’t the kids at this event to be honored for their state title? Were any local Asbury Park politicians (who are not Republicans by the way) invited to this photo opportunity? The answer is that the kids weren’t there and the Democratic politicians weren’t invited to Mr. Blackmore’s shindig with Assembly Republicans. Only Mr. Blackmore and his close friend, Ron Strandridge, were honored by the 11th district’s two Republican Assemblymembers. This is yet another unbelievable (and Joey would have you think coincidental) Republican connection for those getting jobs and raises in the MARSD while teachers and custodians are being fired…

THE SAD TRUTH said...

Now, I know what you’re thinking. THE SAD TRUTH is on another rant trying to weave random internet postings into a political conspiracy by the school board that affects Matawan and Aberdeen. But, did you see the Assemblywoman holding the football jersey in the picture? Her name is Mary Pat Angelini, and guess who her daughter is? Kudos if you got this one… Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini’s daughter is Matawan Republican Councilwoman, Toni Angelini. So, is it any wonder that the Republican-controlled Matawan town council passed (according to Joey) “an understated and professional resolution” about the incompetent, Republican-energized and corrupt school board? Especially when the major issue with the budget cuts is the hiring of Matawan Councilwoman Toni Angelini’s family friend, Tyler Blackmore, as the district 22nd administrator, while eighty other people are being fired?

I mean, I’ve said it before, but you really can’t make this stuff up…

And, as usual, Republican-mouthpiece Joey is right up front with his proclamation defending: 1) the school board’s Republican champion, Dr. Dick; 2) the new Republican-connected administrator, Tyler Blackmore; and 3) the Republican-controlled Matawan council’s resolution, which neglects to mention the hiring of Councilwoman Toni Angelini’s family friend as the major issue.

I’m glad that ethics complaint on Delaney didn’t reveal my identity, Joey. Because by remaining anonymous, I’m digging up more partisan skeletons from your backyard than I even have time to post about. I think I’ll continue my anonymous destruction of your credibility and continue showing that every public action and statement you make serves the agenda of you and your Republican friends… That is, unless your wife moves you out of town… Only time will tell…

Tick Tock Tick Tock…

THE SAD TRUTH said...

Oh, I almost forgot about another huge "coincidence," Joey...

Tyler Blackmore's former employer: Asbury Park High School is located less than 3 miles from Jeff Delaney's place of employment at the Monmouth County Superintendent's Office in Neptune. Now, if you believe they don't have some connection while both working for the public education system less than 3 miles apart, then I have a bridge I can sell you...

Again, just another unbelievable coincidence for Joey and his friends... But, according to Joey, Delaney has been known to drive to Hunterdon County to visit the post office, so maybe location isn't everything.

Speaking of great location, I hope Joey's realtor is marketing his wife's house as a dandelion farm. Maybe the buyer can get the same assessment as John Samaha... You can't get out of this town soon enough, Joey. You're a disgrace...

They should get a free pass too for violating the Sushine Laws, listening to liars-lawyers and voting improperly, keeping CME fat and happy, enacting rules to keep CME fat and happy and oh yeah keeping the democratic campaign coffers flush with CME cash. THE SAD TRUTH said...

Anon @ 4:35 PM,

Please don't confuse the two issues. I'll leave the Kauff-bashing to you. I'm not here to defend Kauff, I'm here to expose Joey Warren and his corrupt Republican-controlled school board for the scum that they are.

I am a Democrat, as you can tell, but I don't particularly care about the Aberdeen Democrats. I care about the Aberdeen Republicans having their hooks in the school board and the political hacks, like Warren and Delaney, that are being used to fill our schools with Dr. Dick's Republican friends and allies...

All while hard-working teachers and custodians, who live in Aberdeen, are being fired. It's an absolute disgrace. No better than CME, Mark Coren, Stuart Brown, or whatever else you want to post about. I don't care...

O'Connells questioning of the superintendents political affiliations and his concerns about fundraising at the time seemed strange and out of left field after praising him for months. I guess not. Any reasonable person knows Delaney did not pay $4,000 out of pocket to be on the board of education. Joey tried to justify the Blackmore hiring but could not defend his starting salary which definitely proves he has an in somewhere, probably Delaney, maybe political connections of O'Malley. This is exactly what they accused Barza of doing but this is way beyond that.

So, let's see - Sad Sack accuses Delaney of spending $4k so it must be true. And he would've filed a complaint but went to the wrong office. And you think there's a massive collusion on the school board because nobody asked about the step level for Blackmore.

Maybe there is something in the water.

Well, at least we're not hearing any more complaints about a "divided board". :)

He doesn't have to accuse him. Any reasonable person could assume that printing, mailing, and signage for a town of Aberdeens size would cost close to that for a campaign. The amount Delaney filed as having spent on his campaign is the falsehood. All board members should have questioned Blackmores starting salary and why he started at that step because it stood out like a sore thumb. Not one publicly did. How come # int (number interviewed) was not on the agenda as it always is? Just a coincidence? Many on this blog caught the $19,000 raise from his previous job right away. And by the way, the cuts recommended by O'Malley to the township had $171,970.00 in line item accounts other than salaries. Still waiting on where the cuts really are.

The children of the Kauff are once again deflecting blame and their corruption on anything and everyone else.

Lets see a school district that educates children improperly run with poor test scores for years, has now become a little better and the person who is in charge and has implimented these same improvements and gets the same amount of money or maybe a just little more then the scum who ruined the district and allowed it to wallow in failure gets questioned every single day.

Its ok though since the town is so well run by the most honest people imaginable. Sure they are sad sack you piece of crap.

Norm said...

Who's deflecting? Seems like Joeys little bitches are to me.

Aberdeener said...

Wow. So now the anons know how much signage and mailings Delaney purchased. They knew how much Blackmore was earning before he was hired. They knew to look at his step. So all-knowing, you wonder why they remain anonymous.

Blackmore's salary was negotiated at a time he knew he could have stayed in Asbury Park and gotten tenure. The difference had to be enough lure him away from Asbury Park. I have no idea if we could have gotten him for less and neither does anybody else.

The question should have been asked. Whether it would have made a difference is anybody's guess.

I wonder where all these all-knowing anons were when the district was spending $2 million a year on a program that didn't work.

By the way, by now everyone has seen that not a single person has challenged a single point in the post above. That says far more than all your silly conspiracy theories.

Wow, that last Aberdeener comment is downright insulting. Not sure if this was the intended tone, but the mood I got from reading the first paragraph was that anyone who posts as "anonymous" isn't capable of putting two and two together, or so Mr. Warren thinks.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I don't even know much about these figures blamed for our current situation, but even a 10-year-old should be able to realize the Blackmore hire/salary situation is questionable when so many district employees are living in fear of unemployment, if they aren't already set to lose their jobs.

Anonymous said...

I've asked this question a # of times, but seemed to have been ignored by Joe.

when are you going to address the large drop in math scores on the HSPA Joe?

With thee same few people posting about the great O doing so much for the district, and how everything is sooo much better now, where is the response?

I'd also like to know the status of the ethics complaint filed against you?

Kauff will go down said...

Hey Christine, People lose jobs!
Children need to learn from teachers! We should have never got into the bus business in this district. Politicians in town are corrupt! Aberdeen employees know what is really going on and will spill their guts when asked by the authorities. As soon as the investigators arrive. They will get here and Kauff and his people will go down. O'Malley has made improvements. Some scores have increased and some did not. But Christine where were you when year after year under Quinn and bar-za scores remained in the basement?
We as a society want instant gratification. It only works like that on TV. Crimes don't get solved in an hour episode. Murders are not solved between commercial breaks and bank robbers don't get caught as they walk out the front door. The damage done to this district by its former leadership and bar-za did not happen overnight. The repairs and improvements will take time. The Dr.O did this and Dr.O did that is bull and is merely meant to cloud the issues and distract us from one simple fact. Norman Kauff controls Aberdeen and it is wrong. He will pay for his crimes. The law is coming Normy. Keep doubting it. People have sent letters to the giovernor and he will have people look at Normy. I cannot wait until it happens. My wife and I have three years left until we retire. Kauff and his cohorts will go down.

Heres a question about your points above that was asked and never answered. Where are the facts purposely distorted and where are the factual errors in the township resolution?

Aberdeener said...

I could list several but here are a few -

1) The resolution says the board recently awarded big raises to the administration. Raises given a year ago are not "recent". No raises were given this year to the top administrators.

2) The resolution gives the impression we added a new administrative position. Not true. We cut three administrative positions and replaced one.

3) The resolution notes the MRAA are scheduled to receive salary increases without mentioning the school district has no control over these increases - they're contractual and the terms were agreed upon two years ago.

4) The resolution suggests board impropriety or incompetence by linking administrator salary increases with terminations despite the fact the board has no control over the former.

5) The resolution says the board would not discuss any further budget cut. That's not what happened at the meeting but, since I'm not at liberty to discuss confidential matters, I can't comment further.

6) The township claims firing another administrator won't harm the district. Okay, at the time the resolution was approved, which $150,000 administrator could we eliminate that wouldn't harm the district.

7) The resolution suggests the board might "needlessly" reduce programs and services for students.

Want more examples? Can't wait to see how many councilmen take pay cuts to help with the town budget.

Christine said...

Kauff will go down,

Well if Quinn began his time as superintendent in 2002, a year later I was doing very well on my 6th grade TerraNovas...

O'Malley started in April 2008. He has nothing to do with a majority of the HSPA scores in at least the immediate following years. 2008 was taken before he even started, and most 2009 juniors would have learned the majority of the material on the test before he started as well, unless they had to take a re-medial HSPA prep class.

And yes, children do need to learn from teachers, for that to happen we need to have enough teachers and supplies. That extra money going into Blackmore's salary could have been useful in the classrooms.

Aberdeener said...

I generally don't comment on test scores until we have the state averages. Without state or district comparisons, it's impossible to know if there's any impact from changes in the exams from year to year.

Having said that, the HSPA scores were not good. Historically, any student who wasn't taking advanced math in the lower grades was at a serious disadvantaged. Dr. O'Malley accelerated the math curriculum in the middle school but I don't know what the plan is to help those students who were already in high school.

If you recall, parents rejected the lunch help sessions. We now have required "electives" for students in danger of not graduating but we still need something to help students before the exam, not after.

Response to Aberdeener post:

#2 The opoortunity was there to promote someone from within. This could've been a nice moral booster for the district. Also, not backfilling that position woud fix #6.

O'Malley is pushing for the school district in his town to cut $1.5M from their budget, he should be able to find $0.5M from the one he manages.

Anonymous said...

You need moe examples. None of your reasons show factual errors.
1) Raises are recent because they are still in the current year. No raises have been given to top administrators this year. The year is not over and they are coming.
The townships claim is factually corrert.
2) It simply states you are employing a twenty-second administrator at a cost of $150,000per year which is correct, again factually correct.

3) Noting a fact. Factually correct. Two years ago that was to high a percentage on some people making in the $140,000 range.
4) The whole paragraph should not be taken out of context. As stated it is factually correct.
5) Closed door meetings. Your word against theirs. O'Malley has shown it is his way or the highway but regardless this has caused anamousity between the two governing bodies and that doesn't serve the public well.
6) Promote from within and eliminiate administrative payroll is the message most agree with. Still factually correct.
7) No where, except in your mind, does the resolution suggest the board might "mindlessly" reduce programs and services for students. Your words, not theirs.

This is not to defend Kauff or anyone else. It is simply about the statement that the resolution was not factually correct and purposely distorted. It was not.

joey the janitor slayer sucks ass said...

Don't you get it? If you have the nerve to question Warren, or the other douchebag on Crest way, that automatically, without fail, makes you a Kauff supporter. No matter what.

Aberdeener said...

1) The raises were approved during the 2008-09 school year for the 2009-10 school year and the resolution refers to the 2010-11 school year. They're not "recent".

2) A "distortion" can still be "factually accurate". For example, if I double the price of an item and then offer a "half-price" sale, that's a "distortion" even though it's "factually accurate". In this case, four administrators leave, one comes on board, and you calculate that as plus one.

3) The contractual increase is 4.2%, not 4.6%, so even by your ridiculously low standards, it's not factually accurate.

4)You say things shouldn't be taken out of context even though you argue it's okay to take things out of context so long as it's "factually correct"

5) You're right. My word against theirs because it was a closed door meeting. It shouldn't have been discussed at all.

6) Promoting from within is not the same as eliminating positions yet the resolution treats them as they are.

7) Nowhere but in your mind did I say "mindlessly". Read again. I said "needlessly" and that's a quote from the resolution.

If this is the best you can do given everything I wrote about the township, it's pretty damning.

So let me get this straight.
Njoey goes out and does his job?Leaves a notice for a refigerator that is somewhere it is not supposed to be? The guy who was already warned to only put it out the night before the pickup complains? Makes sense to me? I put some bigger items out for the pickup and was told to only put it out at the curb the night before the appointment when I made the appointment. It was simple enough to me.

So I followed the rules and I did not have my neighbors have to look at it for a week until it got picked up.

Refrig man why do you think they tell you to not put it out until the night before Einstein? Should everyone just put stuff out and leave it there forever? There is a name for places that look like that. They are called slums. I don't want to live in a slum. Do you refrigerator man?

I am glad the Njoey does his job. Hate him all you want at least he does what we pay him for.

frig guy is dead wrong said...

I agree no one wants to look at your refrigerator or anything else that people put out for a long time. Get real and think about it will ya. Do you really think we should allow people to put big items like that all over the place until they get picked up sometime in the future. I called Monday and they will pick up an old ping pong table I had in the garage in three weeks. So should I be like the frig guy and just put it out now for the next two weeks. I also agree this place would look like a slum in quicktime without poeple like the code guy. Cutting grass and stuff is a given but do you want to go tell your neighhbor to cut it when they forget. Not me.

Anonymous said...

How fitting, Mr. Warren, that the one aspect of Monday's board meeting you felt you should highlight on your blog was your own proclamation. This post really accentuates your arrogance and over-inflated sense of self-importance. For those who don't know, it was Personal Best night, to honor students, an the adults who support them, who overcome obstacles everyday to achieve that which many of us take for granted. It was an inspiring evening of personal testaments and recognition. Our Mr. Warren, it seems, was once again unable to resist the lure of attention, however ridiculous. I proclaim that the children did an amazing job, and that you, Mr. Warren, have once again shown your true motives, which, it seems have little do with the betterment of the children in this district.

I agree with the guy above. It is not up to us neighbors to tell our neighbors or anyone else to keep up properties. Unfortunately people cannot all be expected to maintain or follow simple rules in society today. Joe Mcleer came to my house once and left one of his warnings to contact him about the property next door. The woman had died and no one was keeping an eye on it in her family. I had some contact information for him and that call kept that property maintained until the sale. Should I have had to call and tell her family? I don't think so. Criticize him if any of you want too I am glad he has to do it for us.

I work with Joe pt. 2 said...

I said before that I work with Joe and right away he gets compared with the guys from our Department of Public works as to salary for some reason. I have to ask the anonymous critic of Joe just one question. Do you know what it is that Joe does? The laws he uses are broken down into hundreds of categories with numerous levels of ordinances, procedures, laws and codes for a large assemblage of things. All of it covering a bunch of categories and circumstances on each and every property type in town. He does all of it sending out every letter, warning, summons and makes every call himself. He is the parking guy for all the commuter lots and that is another job with many critics that I know for sure. He does something with Flood prevention programs in town also. He also does recycling enforcement in town. He does business inspections when they open. He does an awful lot more that that and he has offered several times to allow anyone to call and ask him about what he does. So call and ask him before you criticize him or any of us again. His job is a whole lot more then telling people to cut grass or when to put a couch at the curb so it can get removed. I am sure that the anonymous critic will not be satisfied with my answers or that I also work in town hall. I mean we are all just slackers right? So I will say it again I would not want to do his jobs. You can bet everyone around the building monday quarterbacks everything he does without knowing what it is he really does. That is what it is like for him at work everyday. Maybe the anonymous know it all should offer to go along with Joe for a couple hours and see what it is like. For that fact I would love to have people do what I do for a day and come back the next day ready to work. I myself don't deal with the public too much and Joe does every day. Like Joe says no one wants to be told what it is they have to do to help themself or clean up. You can be sure no matter what he does someone is not going to be happy and will call somebody and complain. I heard him tell a complaining person on the phone who questioned what he does. His answer was simple. I look at 6000 homes, 10 apartment complexes, 120 businesses and everything in between so I have no time to single you out mam. I was in his office just the other day and he was throwing out about thirty business signs he had removed off poles and stuff just in the last couple of weeks. In the town I live in no one does that and it looks really bad. So keep criticizing him cause he does not care. He will be at work Tuesday ready to work. So will I. It is like he says it is not the 99things you do right it is the one thing you do wrong that management remembers. Too bad that is many of our reality too in government jobs. Since all we do is take long lunches and stand around the water cooler talking about last nights shows on television. The only ones who call are the ones we have to tell what they don't want to do. Like he says no one knows what he does but they all want to tell him how to do it. Call any town and ask the guy who does just some of what he does if they are treated the same way. The answer will not surprise me or Joe. To anyone else sorry I went on so long.

Chris Christie is pissing off the njea off and I say good for him. They have ruled the roost for far too long and public opinion is against them in the eyes of an oppressed taxpayers since they have been shown for what they have truly showed themselves to be truly against the taxpayers. After reading the APP article, it is just amazing of the nerve of these politicians who were elected of how well they consider the residents of their own town. GIVE ME ONE NAME of a resident that is in favor of this. Instead of the Council fighting for our town, they would rather just tell us to bend over and take it. When it is mentioned that Christie wants to do away with COAH, any reasonable Council member working for their town would delay all this BS, but then again it's not about that, it about putting the almighty $$ in Kauff's hands and the Democratic Party. (You Dems voted your guys in, lets here from you!, Unless you approve of our taxes going to be raised again to cover the cost of all those new kids becoming students)
One reason the Council doesn't care how high the taxes rise is because they just make a change to the stipend they receive to cover thier entire tax bill.

Back to the math scores Joe...

So, let me get this straight..the scores are down and O'Malley wants accelerate the math clases?
Anyone up there ever teach?
If children are having trouble with the basic math classes, accelerating them doesn't help it makes it worse.
The math changes in the middle school are going to cause major major problems in the testing scores. You can not take kids who are barely passing and accelerate them. I can not see the mess that this makes out of the math scores in the next few years. Thank gods my kids have made it through already!
There are a few kids that will benefit fromaccelerating the math classes, but most will be hurt by it!
I wonder how much of this has be discussed with the math teachers before the decision? You know the ones who actually work with the kids and understand math.

Aberdeener said...

The kids are failing the HSPA Math because they're not spending sufficient time on the material being tested. The kids can handle learning algebra a year earlier.

Anonymous said...

Hey Joe when did you become a math teacher? lol You really are a moron.

Anonymous said...

With all this talk about a new administratiion position, all i can say is that there are four aaiatant principal positions at the High School. Now the kids are told that they need to purchase the summer reading program books, when they used to be given out by the school. Also they need to purchase the calculators that they are required to have in class. these calculators cost in excess of over $75.00. What happened to all the calculators that the school had prior the were assigned to the students. The loss of one of these assistant principals salary would more than cover the costs of these products. But then again, do the students education really matter in the eyes of the school board or are they more concerned with making sure certain people keep there precious positions.
